Publisher's summary

Thomas à Kempis' collection of meditative writings from the Bretheren of the Common Life is the most widely read book in the world after the Bible. The reflective devotions have been a heartening friend to great men such as Thomas More, St. Ignatius Loyola, Thomas Merton, Pope John Paul I, and John Wesley.

Learning to live live Jesus is the central task that A. Kempis explores in this classic devotional. This book provides comfort and counsel to every person who seeks to live a more connected and whole life.

Purity of Heart are the Wings that take us to Heaven.

Aside from the Bible, the greatest book on the Planet from a 14th. Century Monk “Thomas A kempis “ will help you with Perseverance to keep going in your life no matter what trials you have. It always makes me feel better.

Simply the BEST!

Best rendition of an all time favorite. Hard-core truthful Catholicism. I listen to this book repeatedly and have for years. David Corcoran Heath is the best narrator ever. You can't find this particular publication anywhere else. A real gem. I don't write many reviews, but this audio book hits home every time. - WML, US NAVY RETIRED

Great inspirational book to worship The LORD Jesus

Encouraging and inspirational if you understand that God has done something for us, Jesus died for us; and secondly God has done something to us, we were crucified with Christ. Both justification and our sanctification are based on finished work Christ on the cross. We are saved by Grace through faith not of works (Eph 2:8-9). As you listen, please remember that you are accepted in the beloved Jesus Christ by faith. You can not evoke from God higher favour by your commitment than He already gave you through atoning death of Christ on the cross and through His resurrection. Please do not turn your sanctification into works of legalism but rather use this book to receive by faith what God has already given you through Christ on the cross and when He came back from grave.

profound

This book has some very profound truths and a gentle grace that surpasses much wisdom. it is apparent to me that Thomas a Kempis was very close to Jesus. someone say that his model for prayer is too pious or humble, but don't let this book pass you by as it has level of depth that may only be found once a century.

Great companion on journey to God...

...forsaking self to afford room for the other, God, loved ones, and those not so easy to afford room to in our lives.

Good devotional

This is a wonderful and old devotional work for any Christian, new or old. It does suffer from a few faults marking its age such as outdated words and being male oriented, but these are things common to all older works and should not be held accountable for them. I do believe that, overall, this is the best Christian devotional there is.
