beautiful reading of a powerful story

A moving story exploring the fears, sorrows, hopes and connections across three generations of a family. Beautifully read; excellent characterizations and pacing, and excellent use of the music of Mahler's Kindertotenlieder. The metaphor of the ice shelf is powerfully evocative of the risks we normally ignore, but that are always lurking at the edges of everyday life.

Kingfisher Glides with Ice Shelf!

A fine fiction writer possesses an excellent command of the English language, yes. But more than that, a fine fiction writer makes it seem as though he's simply putting into words what he's witnessing before him. And what Nelson Kingfisher has witnessed here is a vivid and captivating story now available for all of us to witness.
Mr. Kingfisher adds the finishing touches of nuanced interpretation as the audiobook narrator.
Highly recommended!
