Hawthorn Creely is searching for the missing Lizzie Lovett, but she might just end up finding herself.

Hawthorn Creely doesn't fit in, and that was before she inserted herself into a missing persons investigation. She doesn't mean to interfere, but Lizzie's disappearance is the most fascinating mystery their town has ever had. And she's pretty sure Lizzie'll turn up at any moment, which means the time for speculation is now. So Hawthorn comes up with her own theory for Lizzie's disappearance. A theory way too absurd to take seriously at first. To prove she's right, Hawthorn hunts for evidence by immersing herself in Lizzie's life. Taking the job and boyfriend of a missing person might seem kind of dangerous, but it may just be the push Hawthorn needs to find her own place in the world.

This is a good teen book filled with mystery! Would recommend that you are at least 13! I'm 12 may be a little to MA for some students. No there isn't 100 lies but if you listen to it you wouldn't regret it.

Hawthorn was so real and so likable. Strange, quirky, funny, and very relatable. I read this even though other people didn’t seem to like it. I think it’s probably a little too real for some people. But the idea that there is magic in the world, and living your life like there is, made this a very good read. And I especially love all her curses that aren’t really curses. My favorite is: “I wish her mascara would dry out after she had only done one eye.”

Going in blind thinking this would be a fluffy read. There are alot of twist and turns. Teenage years are hard. The experiences that Hawthorn has are real and raw. Really makes you stop and think about those years.
Overall it's an engaging read that offers a fresh perspective on the themes of identity and belonging. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the greatest discoveries come from looking within. Loved it. I can't wait to read more of Chelsea Sedoti's books.
