Twists and turns in this excellent mystery

this does not seem to be available in unabridged format, what a loss! This author is great but much is lost in abridging.

More Ruth Adventures — Fast-paced Narration
Yes, this is the excellent 3rd installment of Ruth Galloway. Audible has 2 options — this one, which is 5+ hrs by Clare Corbett, and another which is 10+ hrs by someone else. PICK THIS ONE. THIS IS NOT ABRIDGED. The extra 5 hrs in the other is all due to slow reading and unwieldy, overly emotional pausing by a narrator who sounds like a breathy adolescent.
By the 3rd volume of a mystery series, the author’s basic model and structure is familiar. So this didn’t grab me as innovative as the first 2. Nevertheless, I’ve come to really like Ruth and the collection of reappearing characters. I learn new aspects of history, and, when Ruth is neither soaked with rain or in danger of drowning, I think it would have been an engaging alternate life.
