Publisher's Summary

This program is read by the author.

James Fell, motivation expert and social media dynamo, teaches listeners how to skip the hard part and go directly from intention to committed action.

After years of helping people change, James Fell had a sudden insight about sudden insight: significant life change doesn’t often come from just putting one foot in front of the other, carefully observing and altering habits, slogging through baby steps toward new behavior. Rather, the research reveals that serious life turnaround usually happens in a moment, with a flash of inspiration. Epiphany arrives like a lightning strike, rapidly shifting the recipient of such enlightenment onto a new path that creates a better life.

Motivational psychology has traditionally focused on slow and steady - gradual improvement over time to reach a desired goal, whether it’s weight loss, career change, battling addiction, or success in relationships. We’ve been told since toddlerhood that the tortoise beats the hare. But, through compelling science and powerful stories, James Fell shows us that the hare has the edge; overwhelming desire can be awakened fast and furiously. When you learn to become attuned to that sensation of sudden awakening, a new path can be followed almost effortlessly, because it feels like destiny.

Everyone has the ability to experience the lightning strike. The Holy Sh!t Moment will teach you how to create a life-changing epiphany and go directly from intention to action.

Very enlightening

I follow James on Facebook and he is never short on substance or style. This book is more of the same of that. Very informative and well researched much like his articles are. As he states repeatedly in the book that his target reader is someone who is seeking a change I am definitely in that camp. There are some fundamental life changes I’d like to make soon that are similar to the things James has struggled through and ultimately succeeded in doing. I feel inspired that I too can make those changes and the information written here along with his usual comedic style and cursing are very relatable and I recommend this book to anyone needing a well informed and mostly science based kick in the ass to begin a new journey.

Just listen to this

I’ve read so many self help books that I rarely bother with them anymore. But James Fell made me laugh and nod my head a lot. New insights and ideas here. I enjoyed the content and loved the delivery. This is one I will listen to again.

No. Just NO.

I kept trying, I really did.

But this book. OH my god. If you like generalizations, repetition and hearing OVER and OVER and even MORE over again about how this fella is married to a DOCTOR..grab this and waste a credit and a whole lot of your time.

Junk.

Thoroughly Enjoyed This Book!

I really enjoyed this book! I'm a little surprised by how much and plan to listen to it again. I also liked the author's narration. some folks can write, and some are good narrator's, but James Fell is that rate unicorn who can do both.

Quick paced, funny, and insightful

I listen to over 10 nonfiction books per month. This is one of the best.

Poor production quality

This sounds like it was recorded in a bathroom, and the narration is very poorly done. I had to stop listening about 30 minutes in.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

This book is a bit long, but James Fell is a good narrator and so you don't really notice. He's engaging and funny while relaying some excellent stories. My one complaint might be that despite the length of the book it doesn't really lay out a good plan for creating your own holy sh!t moments. Yes there's advice in each chapter, but it's always fairly general and not collected in the end.

Classic James.

I was very engaged by the subject matter and James's presentation of his own book. I will listen to it again within the next 30 days to pick up nuggets that I missed.
