Good, but not for me

It was okay, and the narrators tell you the summary of each book before starting it, which is helpful. However, it is not what I was looking for.

Long

Inconsistent pacing, weird twist ending, and a poorly executed Rashomon style main character introduction that did not add much to the plot.

It is finished. My review, that is.

very easy listen and easy to understand

summaries and explanations of each book before they start which helps understand and answer many questions that one might have in reading the bible. I highly recommend!

Wonderful readers

There are no chapter titles at all? You have to guess where to find something.

Nice dynamic equivalence translation

No translation of the Bible is perfect. The Contemporary English Version (CEV) is
a dynamic equivalence translation: it takes the ancient Hebrew, Greek and Aramaic
and attempts to distill its meaning and tone in modern, plain English. No easy task!

I have compared passages of the CEV to more popular standard Bible translations
and the "spirit" of text comes to life even if the wording seems different. For me,
the essential meaning is not "lost in translation".

The CEV sounds wonderful read out loud by a good narrator. It flows like a story
book. It will not confound young adults or children as much as the King James or
Douay-Rheims with archaic expressions. Nor will its simple language bore adults.
Just my opinion, of course. Your impressions may differ.

I have not listened to all of the narrators but I like the ones I've encountered in
this production.

My only reservation was the chapters in the Table of Contents. There is no way
to turn efficiently to any book or verse. The numbered chapters are not marked
with the names of the books. Very time-consuming.

The bible

I thought this was a good translation of the Bible, it is very long though roughly 107 hours and book 4 or 5 repeats chapters so you will have to skip every other chapter.

Beautiful love story

I finished and started listening again immediately. The Word of God is full of love, comfort and hope. I felt an amazing peace as I listened and knew God was talking to me by the end.

trouble

enjoyed the format but not sure if the problem is with the book or Audible after I was well into the book it would randomly jump to a different section.
I was listening on my Android phone and found that attempting to make a call, then immediately canceling out the narrative would jump back to where it should be. This became quite a regular intrusion when getting into the New Testament.
