This book offers no advice on living, despite containing ethical content; it offers no advocacy for any particular personal or political philosophy, despite containing political and philosophical content. This is the story of auctoritas, and the principles upon which it is based; this is the history of authority, the history of power – which doesn’t leave anyone alone…as history demonstrates.
