Publisher's summary

Every door has a hinge. If it doesn’t, it’s a wall.

Dan Jansen, Olympic Gold medalist stated "The key to mental toughness is knowing that it only takes one. Dr. Bell takes that fact a step further in The Hinge."

Have you ever noticed how the outcome of a close competition depends upon one play or moment? If we look closer, every season and career also possesses these crucial, pivotal moments. It only takes one. The Hinge is the one moment, event, or person that makes all the difference. It connects who we are with who we become. This is the importance of having Mental Toughness, will you be ready?

A special author !

I’ve read a few books by this author - and many many sports psych books by other well knowns.
This author has a special way of conveying his powerful message. It comes across in each book he’s written ! His passion for what he does and the athletes out here doing their thing is evident. it’s a super deep and genuine caring and m” magnificent obsession “ so good !

So simple, and Clear

His stories all show by real life examples the points and lessons we should understand. Mental toughness is explained nicely, clearly and with inspiring stories. I enjoyed the book alot.

Not much to this.

I’m a fan of Dr. Bell, but this was a collection of quotes and sports history. Not his best work.

Where are the women examples?

In this entire book the author could only come up with one example of mental toughness displayed by a woman! Very sad.

Nothing to do with mental toughness

A collection of sports story’s. Equating moments in time to a hinge. How is this toughness? Chance and timing at best.
