Publisher's Summary

The Try Guys deliver their first book - an inspirational self-improvement guide that teaches you that the path to success is littered with humiliating detours, embarrassing mistakes and unexpected failures.

To be our best selves, we must become secure in our insecurities. In The Hidden Power of F*cking Up, The Try Guys - Keith, Ned, Zach and Eugene - reveal their philosophy of trying: how to fully embrace fear, foolishness and embarrassment in an effort to understand how we all get paralyzed by a fear of failure. They'll share how four shy, nerdy kids have dealt with their most poignant life struggles by attacking them head-on and reveal their - ahem - sure-fail strategies for achieving success.

But they're not just here to talk; they're actually going to put their advice to work. To demonstrate their unique self-improvement formula, they'll each personally confront their deepest insecurities. A die-hard meat lover goes vegan for the first time. A straitlaced father transforms into a fashionista. A perpetually single sidekick becomes the romantic lead. A child of divorce finally grows more intimate with his family. Through their insightful, emotional journeys and surprising, hilarious anecdotes, they'll help you overcome your own self-doubt to become the best, most f*cked up version of yourself you can be!

Read it!

Personal, funny, moving, inspiring. Truly enjoyed listening to it, and I will definitely use some of their tips in my life.
You should give this book a try! It might not be for you, but you will not know before you have read it or listened to it.

It’s ok to fail

Feels like a Podcast but with the thoughts and layout of a book. This book would be great for teenagers to read/listen too, great insights on how to just give thing a go, they might be scary and yes you might fail but try again. Loved it.

This isn't a try, this is a success

Everything was awesome. When it came to the end, I really though "what? Already?".
You have a lot of different emotions, from getting teary eyed to laughing outloud. And even when you know them, you learn even more.

This IS the Try Guys

If you're a fan of the Try Guys then give this a go (especially audio), they translate well into book form. It's also nice to listen to a "self-help" book that the author is trying as writing.

Amazing Stories!

I would listen to this on my journey to work and back and the entire time it made my journey so nice! Loved hearing all the stories the guys haven't had the chance to share yet. I found myself comparing my life and family to see how I could improve some aspects of my life. Gutted I missed the chance to get a signed copy of the book but the audiobook was definitely worth the listen!

Probably better to read than listen to

As another reviewer said I’m not sure I’d tout this as a self help book, it was more just stories about them and a few videos ideas but in audio/ written form.

I thought Keith and Eugene narrated this well and Eugenes experience at complementing his family had me laughing out loud but I ended up skipping Zach’s parts as the forced laugh, weird dramatic pauses and fake sincerity really bugged me

They tried (and made a fun book in the process)

I don't think it's a good self help book per se, BUT: there are some great stories in it and the way they told them was very good. You could feel the fun they had, also the emotion in the more sad parts and the love when they talked about loved ones.
I think it works very well as an audiobook and I'm glad I took the time to listen to it. I just choose to not see it as a self help book but as an insider look at the Try Guys and what made them who they are now.

You might wonder why I don't think it's a great self help book then. And it's mostly because I didn't enjoy the focus it had in some parts on looks. The book gave you ways to cope with your surroundings and outer shell. Be it by exercise, clothing, relationships or family. Of course those 4 are very important, but it doesn't solve anything if you can't just be happy being you. And saying for instance that you can always fall back on family makes your advise not applicable to a lot of people, family can be very toxic. In short: I feel like they try to push you to change, when I think the more important lesson would be that, sure you can change for the better, but you should start with knowing that you are good as you are now, that helps a lot with taking on something you find scary or is new, And they didn't give me that at all.

Good vibes from the Try Guys

Good job guys, a really entertaining but also inspirational audio book. This book has actually put me into a really good head space where I’ve made some positive changes in my life and started applying for things I had previously been unsure about.

I’m really sad that I’ve caught up with the audio book and podcast, what am I meant to listen to now :(

Listen to this book if you’d like to hang out with the Try Guys and get to really know them!
