Publisher's summary

What if you have waited to find love only to be rejected when it finally comes?

Lenore Lapp is an Amish schoolteacher in her late 20s still living at home with her parents and grandparents. She thought love had passed her by until she meets Jesse Smucker, a widower with a baby daughter. She quickly falls in love with them both and accepts Jesse’s proposal of marriage, but Jesse breaks off their engagement when he realizes he can’t marry only for convenience.

Resigned to living single, Lenore throws herself into caring for her elders. While working in her grandmother’s garden, she digs up an old jar. Will Lenore find healing for her broken heart and solve long-buried family secrets by reading the note contained inside?

wholesome & interesting

I enjoyed the healing jars & the scripture references. This book was fun to read because there were so many plot twists & I could relate to the well developed characters. The detailed descriptions made me feel like I was part of the story.

The narrator was expressive, good with different voices & had a pleasant voice that was easy to listen to.

Jars of hope

I truly enjoyed this series. Following the lives of the three main characters as they grew in faith, confidence and love was wonderful. An excellent idea from a great author who gives a a peek into the Amish culture. This was a great story and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

Healing Jars

Book 3 finds Sara and Michelle happily married which leaves Lenore still waiting. When Jess and his infant daughter moves into the community, things start to look better. Much happens in the story including death and births and heartache. Another jar is found of prayers, Scriptures, and notes- all of which encourage faith and hope. They also help Sara in her quest to find her birth father.

No Surprises Here

Very simple writing. Narrator did not use Amish accent. The Healing Jar was more of a sidebar, rather than a focal point.
