Little Mia Cooper's ability to see the dead made her an outcast in her hometown. Several years later, she has finally managed to blend in, but her hard-won peace is threatened by the arrival of a bumbling team of paranormal investigators. Mia is drawn in reluctantly as an advisor on what, at first, seems to be a fairly straightforward case, only to discover that the Hollow has much more in store for her. An ancient evil is rising in Cold Creek Hollow. What begins as a ghost hunt will become a fight for survival.

Alexie draws you in to all her stories as if you are there along with all the PEEPS. I would like to see ALL the books on audible.

Where does The Hauntings of Cold Creek Hollow rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This listening experience was memorable as the reader made the story come alive and the story line moved along at a very nice pace.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hauntings of Cold Creek Hollow?

I enjoyed the interaction of Mia Cooper with the PEEPs gang and my best memory of the story is when the group gets together to burn out the old church. It didn't start out as a burning but moved quite logically from a seize the bones to burn the bones. It was great and exciting.

Which character – as performed by Emily Beresford – was your favorite?

Mia Cooper is my totally favorite character of the entire book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I actually sat in my car after arriving at my location for a few minutes more, just a few minutes more.

Any additional comments?

I loved this series and Alexie Aaron as an author in print and I really enjoyed this book in audible format. I am looking forward to getting the entire series in audible format as they get released. Please make that soon.

Excellent recording and story line.......

A small town's nut job who talks to ghost needs the help of Shag and the gang. "those meddling kids" solve the mystery and a little sex with the slutty nut.
Emily's narrative puts you in the story with color! Talented, kept me listening.
This was a fun story. Too kidding for my taste. Like a little more believable story with a chiller scare!

A LITTLE TOO SCOOBY DOO

Started good but it was 3 or so hours too long, I kept looking to see how much longer it was.

The last part just kept going!

Would you consider the audio edition of The Hauntings of Cold Creek Hollow to be better than the print version?

I LOVE them equally. They both have so much to offer. Reading in print, you get so in to the story and characters and absorbed into your imaginings. You transport into the world of PEEPS.....you're there....you live it right along with the characters. In Audio....you can lay back....and absorb the different voices, styles, etc and become involved in a whole other way. The characters come to life with an extra "umph" when you can hear them. BOTH versions offer so much.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the style in which Alexie Aaron writes. She has a totally unique style all her own. Alexie can capture you instantly and keep you captivated until the very end. She leaves you longing for more. I have favorites that I read and re-read and she is my favorite. I guess to sum it up, I love the characters....they are so alive, so real. I also love the wide range of emotions that Alexies story raises within me. I laughed, I cried, my face ached from hours of smiling, it quenched my hunger of ghosts and fear. I am a die hard paranormal junkie. Alexie does her homework and in doing so, makes her stories believable!

Have you listened to any of Emily Beresford’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never had the pleasure however, I thought she was simply amazing. Her wide range of voices and tones....her added drama, excitement, fear, and truth she integrated into the telling of this story, added life...reality, and a hope that she reads for the entire Haunted series.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Its hard to choose just one moment, the were so MANY ahhhh and a-ha! Moments. So many yikes! and oh crud! Moments...I think my favorite moments in this particular book are the interactions between Mia and Murphy. They know each other in a way others can't know each other.

Any additional comments?

Alexie Aaron is a fantastic writer. I own this entire series and wait longingly for each new addition. Every book brings something new and exciting. There is never the worry of redundancies, she wont allow it to become stale. Amazingly, she cranks these books out in record speed as not to keep her fans waiting. These are just a couple things about this Author that make her amazing and my favorite. If you are considering reading / listening to this book and this series, you wont be disappointed.
WARNING: This series is highly addictive!

completely captivating and longing for more!

I love this book! I wish I could find more in the series. It is exciting, involving, intriguing, and nail biting. The language is awful, be prepared for lots of "f-bombs." That I did not love. This is a great listen!

AWESOME BLOSSOM

First off, three stars isn't a bad rating; it just means that I wasn't particularly "moved" in any emotional way or blown away by the beauty of the writing. I didn't drive around the block over and over again because I was anxious to keep listening and find out what happened next. There was no lyrical prose, the subject matter is rather typical of this genre, and there certainly was no stunning epiphany for this reader. Here, we have a rather formulaic not-too-scary supernatural suspense novel with an endearing enough leading lady and the enjoyable element of history meets mystery. I felt there were too many characters (both living and dead!) to track, and I found myself rewinding to figure out who was who until I got the cast of characters straightened out. (This may be an issue that one encounters listening to a recording vs. reading a printed page.) There was a lot of silly, but often humorous dialogue between the characters (I can tell the author has a sense of humor), but I failed to understand why the author thought the reader needed to know every time one of the characters went to the toilet. (These folks sure do pee a lot!) Also, I found one character's "grief" to be incredibly insincere. "Oh, fiddle dee dee, so-and-so is dead. I'll just go flirt with thus-and-such." The story wasn't very dialogue driven; in fact, it seemed like I was having to really visualize the action in order to understand what was going on. (Ever watch Power Rangers? Yeah, not intentionally, but my oldest son enjoyed them when he was little. There was a lot of pow-pow and not so much was said. That's kind of what I was dealing with in the second half of this book.) The setting was pretty well developed and the underlying mystery was enchanting enough to drive the story, but I didn't extend my evening walk any additional miles to get back to my listening. In any event, I liked Mia Cooper and I always enjoy ghost stories.

Not too scary with a bit of fun
