Publisher's Summary

A Scottish Time Travel Romance

The vacation of her nightmares just might hold the key to her heart.

Eleanor Ackard always knows the right thing to do to help her patients when it comes to their relationships, but when an almost-vacation with her immature boyfriend makes it clear that she needs to take her own advice, she rethinks her plans and sets off on a solo vacation to Scotland. But when a boat tour ends up with her stranded inside a haunted castle, Eleanor is faced with the opportunity to change history. Thrilled to escape her mundane routine for just a little while, she jumps at the chance, never expecting for a moment that it’s her heart that is as likely to change as history.

Monroe Dune never thought it would be a simple wound that would fell him. Resigned to his fate, he sets sail to return to his castle intent on being the last person to ever live on the Isle of Dune. His plans are upended when a mysterious stowaway who refuses to let him die ends up trapped on the isle with him. Despite his best efforts to keep the lass at bay, she slowly but surely finds a place within his heart. Does he love her enough to send her away? Or can they find a way to change history and find happiness together?

Poor editing

Repeated sentences that were not edited out distracted from the flow and professionalism of the book. Interesting storylines though. It was a bit sugary and sappy on the love story parts.

A Hauntingly Beautiful Love Story

I had read the eBook before listening to this audible version. It's amazing how something you already know can be so like new when you hear it brought to life. Lily Collingwood perfectly delivers the magic of Bethany Claire's pen. Not only are there new characters in the book, but it's also set in a new location....somewhere we haven't been in the Morna's Legacy Series. We do have the familiarity of Morna and Jerry. But what a delight it is getting to know Eleanor and Monroe. The story is short but oh so sweet. I recommend it to anyone whether you've already read any of Bethany Claire's books or not. This book is not dependent on any of the previous storylines.

Ghost and a Psychologist

The Haunting of Castle Dune is an expansion of Morna's Legacy world. This time Morna is helping someone else other than family. Eleanor Ackard and Monroe Dune make great wonderful character. Two people from different time and just so different from each other. Eleanor has been counseling people toward a better future but she never has taken her own advise that she deserved better.

Monroe Dune's family has been tricked and had to live out a curse by a witch. To protect everyone at his isle, Monroe send everyone away and thought he was destined to die alone until Eleanor stowaway in his boat.

The story is quite heartwarming and sweet. The author has always really thought the story out. This is one story I would really listen again and again.

As always, the narrator, Lily Collingwood does a brilliant job narrating. I always enjoy her narration.

I was given this audiobook by the author. I have decided to write an unbiased review voluntarily for this book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

A Heartwarming Story of Healing

Let me start off by saying Lily Collingwood is one of the most amazing narrators around. She can take a story and make you believe that you are listen to several different voices. She slides in and out of each character and their accents with such ease that it makes you forget that it is just one person narrating the book.

The witch, Morna, is back to her meddling, match making, and time traveling antics again. Morna’s poor husband, Jerry is always trying to stop her from interfering in other peoples lives. SMH. If you have never read any of Morna’s Legacy Series it doesn’t matter. All of Ms Claire’s books can be read as a stand-alone but this is one is particularly a good book since it develops around a minor character introduced in another book.

Eleanor and Monroe’s story is very touching tale.

In 1640, Monroe is dying and his soul is destined to haunt Castle Dune because of a curse put on his family’s home by a witch. Everyone on the isle that has died since the curse was placed has haunted the castle. To keep any others from this faith he sends all that live on the isle, where the castle is located, to the mainland. Monroe has lived in seclusion ever since.

Eleanor is a psychologist who has just broken up with her deadbeat boyfriend right before leaving on vacation. Since Eleanor has the time off she decides to go to Scotland spur of the moment by a randomly sent pamphlet. Now in the present day the government wants to tear the haunted castle down. Morna just can’t allow that to happen. Morna chooses Eleanor to travel through time to discover how these hauntings can be stopped.

And of course since both Eleanor and Monroe are single, all the better.

Ms Claire always weaves a tale full of humor, a few heart tugging moments, some intrigue, and a touch of romance and passion mixed in here and there. This was easy to listen to and quite enjoyable. I do recommend it.

Heartwarming Novella

This is a story of Morna working her magic again. This time it is Eleanor going back in time to save Monroe and his castle. All of the Morna stories are enjoyable and interesting. My only complaint would be that I needed more of Eleanor and Monroe. It was over too soon for me. I loved this novella and can’t wait to hear who is next for Morna.

Something new

I love this new direction for this series. Bethany has a way of bringing back characters we’ve met briefly and giving them a whole wonderful love story. Great story to listen on a short trip.
