She specializes in fixing up houses with paranormal pasts. Can she purify his property...before it’s too late?

Gemma has a unique gift for cleansing renovations. After a vicious haunting nearly killed her, though, she’s done with the family business. But when her parents need her to take on one last job to save their company, she reluctantly agrees to free an 1880s historical estate from its dark past.

Henry Alcott is desperate to remove the sinister stain from his family’s property. Ever since the original owner was wrongfully convicted of murder and sentenced to death, the ghost lurking in the house’s walls has horrifically sabotaged every restoration. But there’s something about Gemma that makes him believe in a much brighter future.

As they find themselves pulled inexorably together, Gemma and Henry must uncover the truth behind a shocking 100-year-old mystery. If they can’t complete the project in time, her parents will be bankrupted. But staying long enough to finish the work could cost them much more than their lives.

Can Gemma and Henry solve a century-old crime before they lose everything?

Ghosts are people too

I typically don't do anything "scary" and that includes ghost stories, so I was reluctant to listen to this read for that reason but OMG - this book was SO GOOD! I was blown away by this story line which keeps you intrigued with the past events and the mystery surrounding the house. The characters are mysterious too but in a creepy, scary way but rather a what's their motive and the chemistry between Henry and Gemma is amazing. The narration was really well done - this is more a romance than anything haunting so don't let the title fool you - too much! Overall a great listen and I'm looking forward (surprisingly so) to the next read. BTW - I'm glad that this is a stand alone and it sounds like the next will be too so that's a plus!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Could not stop listening!

This book has it all! A fantastic love story, a bit of paranormal fantasy and suspense that is off the charts! I could not stop listening. Alyssa Richards began the Haunting of Alcott Manor with a bang! Gemma is determined to complete the renovation of Alcott Manor to help her father. No other company has been able to finish it due to Benjamin Alcott's ghost. He comes regularly looking for the suicide note from his wife. Now the anniversary of her death is quickly coming, and Gemma is under a severe time constraint to get it completed, Henry Alcott comes to her aid, and begins to help her and their feelings grow. It's a story that builds the suspense, as the house comes alive. It's an intricate story, drawing you in, and letting you see what happened. It's such a great lesson in the history of the house, it's impossible not to keep listening to find out the truth. And the twists and turns and complete surprise at the end are so worth the tantalizing listen. I loved every minute of it!

Erin deWard is amazing in the narration of this book. I love her voice, and I can't even begin to say how incredible her performance was. She became this story, connecting with each character and making it all come to life. From the house to Gemma to Henry, I knew what was happening with inflections in her voice and it made the story like a movie in my mind.

The Haunting of Alcott Manor

This was my first book by Alyssa Richards and I was pretty excited to start it and i have to say that it was AMAZING.
Alyssa Richards writting style hooked mein immediately and I sucked into new thrilling, mysterious world with so many twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.
I was totally impressed with how story kept developing and with the characters. Alyssa was able to mix 3 different genres in one book perfectly. The narration done by Erin Deward was really enjoyable and added more to the experience of the book for me.
I highly recommend this book to any one who enjoys the gothic suspense/mystery genre and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment.
