'A triumph of storytelling'

FIND OUT WHAT IS NEXT FOR STRIKE AND ROBIN

A dismembered corpse is discovered in the vault of a silver shop. The police initially believe it to be that of a convicted armed robber - but not everyone agrees with that theory. One of them is Decima Mullins, who calls on the help of private detective Cormoran Strike as she's certain the body in the silver vault was that of her boyfriend - the father of her newborn baby - who suddenly and mysteriously disappeared.

The more Strike and his business partner Robin Ellacott delve into the case, the more labyrinthine it gets. The silver shop is no ordinary one: it's located beside Freemasons' Hall and specialises in Masonic silverware. And in addition to the armed robber and Decima's boyfriend, it becomes clear that there are other missing men who could fit the profile of the body in the vault.

As the case becomes ever more complicated and dangerous, Strike faces another quandary. Robin seems increasingly committed to her boyfriend, policeman Ryan Murphy, but the impulse to declare his own feelings for her is becoming stronger than ever.

A gripping, wonderfully complex novel which takes Strike and Robin's story to a new level, The Hallmarked Man is an unmissable read for any fan of this unique series.©2025 Robert Galbraith Limited (P)2025 Hachette Audio UK

Reseñas de la Crítica

A terrific and tightly plotted romp ... With an apparent effortlessness that speaks of great discipline and skill, Galbraith keeps the plates of all four possible murder inquiries spinning, each one replete with its own satisfyingly unexpected feints and twists ... A triumph of storytelling (GUARDIAN)
These Galbraith novels are remarkable, the management of a variety of themes and stories extraordinary. Indeed, I would rather read Galbraith than any other crime writer now active. These are books you can happily lose yourself in. (The Scotsman)
Cancel all your plans [...] combines a fiendish mystery with the deliciously tangled will they/won't they romantic lives of private investigators Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. [...] It's so good to have them back. (HEAT)
Galbraith has created a world that the reader wants to spend time in and I'm just as invested in the characters as I am the mysteries. Strike and Robin are two of the most compelling characters in contemporary fiction and I really hope we've got lots more books to come. 'The Hallmarked Man' is dark, twisty and endlessly addictive, and it's one of the strongest books in the Strike series so far.' (ENTERTAINMENT FOCUS)

Love this book series in general. Have been waiting for this one for a long time.

The detective storyline didn’t disappoint, brilliant as usual although a bit too convoluted. Having started with one missing person the agency ends up investigating several unrelated crimes and solves all of them.

However, in terms of personal drama of the main characters, it’s feels painfully forced and completely unnecessary. The whole ‘will they, won’t they’ situation should have been resolved two books ago. Now it’s just agonizing and distracting.

By the end of the book the relationships between characters have got absolutely out of hand, with character A sleeping with character B, who is actually in love with character C, who wants to propose to character D, who is in love with character E, who loves character D too, but doesn’t have the guts to tell them. Seriously? Reminds me of a Mexican soap opera from the 90s. I really hope this mess resolves itself in the beginning of the next book. I’m here for the crime thriller not for the crooked love polygon. It’s a different genre of book.

Detective storyline brilliant, personal drama unnecessary

Can Robin and Strike now get on with it 🤣 Please! I feel like throttling both of them

I just love the way she writes and the huge amount of research that JK must do.

How I Love Galbaith’s Cormoran Strike series - the most thrilling and rich literature-wise, while using such beautiful English.

I loved this book so much so as I reached the final few chapters I didn’t want the story to end
The underlying humor, the romance, the murder s continue
Once again we love Corm & Robyn & all the other characters

So many balloons in the air. Red herrings and herrings you didn’t know were herrings. Characters built in reality. Pitch perfect writing narrated pitch perfectly. Maybe maybe there will be another book in the series or maybe it ends here?

Beat one so far

I really identified with robin this time. Her thoughts and behaviour. Strike is hilarious, swears like a trooper but no nonsense guy. Love the characters. Of course the accents of anyone Scottish are terrible but you get used to that. (Sadly). Anyway the story had me addicted. I didn’t know Telford was a Freemason! Who knew. Always an education as well as entertainment. Does anyone remember Moonlighting? Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. The will they won’t they get it all at the detective agency? This is for me the UK version.

Robin behaving a bit like me

I love it! 👏👏👏👏 Everything: the plot, the plot development, the reading, in short, everything. Each book is as good as the last one before, or even better. The only downside is that we have to wait a year or more to read the next masterpiece in this series

I love everything from the book!

The whole story is very intricate. At no point I had an inkling who dunnit. I will have to wait for the next book now, since it ended with the biggest (worst for fans) cliffhanger everrrr.

Highly recommended

annoyed with the relationship between Strike and Robyn. Hope it gets resolved in the next book or I think most readers will have lost patience

Kept me awake for two consecutive nights. A long book but I couldn’t stop listening
