When Peter checks in to the small hotel in Lytham on Lancashire's Fylde coast he really is in need of a rest. His father recently died and whilst sorting out his estate, Peter finds out that he wasn't his father. Another man who'd had an affair with his mother had been Peter's father. This puts him at odds with his two brothers who make moves to cut him out of 'their' father's will. Emotionally he's at one of the lowest points in his life.

He immediately gets on well with the owner of the hotel, Vicky, but when he meets her 19 year-old son Cameron there are obviously feelings and the two end up falling in love. Peter is bisexual and hadn't counted on falling in love at that time in his life when he's trying to process so much. But then when tragedy strikes his life again, he and Vicky become close and end up changing both their lives in a way they could never have imagined.

But will it last?
