Really cute

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." Really cute Halloween story. Short and sweet. Love how the group of friends stay together regardless of what happens. Not scary but really good nonetheless.

Another Lovely Equine Book in the Series!!

As a little girl, I loved getting lost in timeless classic stories about other children my age who solved (missing/lost items) mysteries, or discovering a long lost object, or having innocent fun and adventures. It’s refreshing to find an author who brings this to a vibrant, modern era for our next generation.

Of the books in the series thus far, it seems this has the most grounding with information about horses/horseback riding. Unexpected, so it seemed to drag at first. A second listen was seem less and balanced out.

The heart of the story was unique and brought warm humanity and humility to our group of friends. The acceptance and bond of loyalty, mixed with their openness to learn and understand their diversity is a learning tool for youngsters in today’s world.

I liked revisiting this world and joining the gang via this narrator. She’s wonderful!! Young at hearts everywhere will love it too!

Love this spooky short story

A group of kids in a small farming community get ready for the Great Pumpkin ride and other Harvest festivities. Rumors of ghost sightings are high and the kids look forward to barrel races and the pumpkin ride followed by a secret camping trip to the old trappers cabin. Very lighthearted enjoyable spooky tale. I would actually like to see more stories with these characters and look forward to more from this author. The narration was great. The Great Pumpkin Ride

A great Halloween story. A group of friends work to uncover the mystery they’ve come upon while having a Halloween camp out.

This story is part of a series, however it works as a standalone story as well. An enjoyable listen for all ages.

Recommend for all kids

This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author and I would listen to another. It seems to be a great story for 10 years and older. There are lessons to be learned.

There is a lot going on in this book. It is set in Canada!Yes, there is a pumpkin ride- many people of the town go out on wagons, tractors and horses down a designated road and everyone decorates and lights their pumpkins. There is a mystery complete with ghosts. The teens do go camping at a cabin in the woods. But this story is so much more. We get a glimpse into their days at and outside of school, their relationships with each other (good and bad) and their towns goings on during the Halloween festivities. There is bullying, teamwork, antagonistic actions and attempted reconciliations, and lessons in tolerance and respect for people of varied beliefs and physical abilities. It is a great listen.

This is the first book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Leslie Howard). She did a great job with the character voices. Most are teenagers. Her style and flow was good and made for a very nice listen.

There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence or swearing.
