Publisher's Summary

The Great Gatsby, first Published in 1925 and probably F. Scott Fitzgerald's finest novel, is set on Long Island's North shore, where Nick Carraway begins a new life in New York in the "roaring 20's".

Carraway is invited to join his new neighbour Jay Gatsby's social circle, including the self-made millionaire's legendary parties, and bears witness to Gatsby's rekindled love affair with the unhappily married Daisy, which ends in tragedy. Today the novel is widely regarded as a paragon of the Great American Novel and a literary classic.

All time classic. But don't buy this version.

Poor narration; he reads such a horrible Gatsby it makes you wonder if he'd even read the book.

This version is thrown together with hopeless half attempts at dramatisation such as music and telephone effects which completely miss the point: Gatsby is poetry itself; it doesn't need bells and whistles, and particularly not poor ones at that.

You must read this book, just not this version.

Love the classic but the narrator is terrible

Obviously an absolute classic, but the narrator's attempts at the female voices drive me crazy, to high and squeaky, I couldn't listen past the third chapter.
