The Gray Men War

The childless couple, with big hearts and open arms, felt a kinship to the Cherokee children in the nearby mission. As time and space on their small ranch allowed, they adopted many. But then, it got crowded.
The Longarms moved to an abandoned monster of a ranch, and kept adding. But that ranch held several threats. The Grays, who the Cherokee called gray men, were insistent in taking the land over or killing the family off. Even well after the war. The Bluecoats oddly enough, were doing the same. Bandits were the wildcards.
However, Robert Longman raised his 'children' Cherokee white and perfectly capable of taking care of themselves. And they would need every bit of that training and determination to solve and survive this puzzle!
