Publisher's summary

He’s been a bad, bad rake - and it takes a governess to teach him a lesson

The accidental governess

After her livelihood slips through her fingers, Alexandra Mountbatten takes on an impossible post: transforming a pair of wild orphans into proper young ladies. However, the girls don’t need discipline. They need a loving home. Try telling that to their guardian, Chase Reynaud: duke’s heir in the streets and devil in the sheets. The ladies of London have tried - and failed - to make him settle down. Somehow, Alexandra must reach his heart....without risking her own.

The infamous rake

Like any self-respecting libertine, Chase lives by one rule: no attachments. When a stubborn little governess tries to reform him, he decides to give her an education - in pleasure. That should prove he can’t be tamed. But Alexandra is more than he bargained for: clever, perceptive, passionate. She refuses to see him as a lost cause. Soon the walls around Chase’s heart are crumbling....and he’s in danger of falling, hard.

Another GREAT book by Tessa Dare

I've read the books of Penny, Emma and now Alexandra. It's been a while since I've enjoyed a set of books so much. The humor she writes into her books has me laughing out loud until. Now I have to wait until FEBRUARY for Nicola's story. Please release it just a little bit earlier.

Another winner!

Another great story by Tessa Dare. It is funny and sweet...and sexy. Loved both characters and you get to see all the ladies from the first story. Chase was a great hero and the two girls (his wards) were hysterical. I LOVED the daily funerals! Highly recommend.

Mary Jane Wells was fab as always!

A perfect pairing of author and narrator

I enjoyed this story from the first minute. It's witty, heart touching, romantic and Mary Jane Wells reads it PERFECTLY. I have read many Tessa Dare books and loved them all but think this story was made all the more enjoyable because of Ms. Wells narrating. If you like humor and quick wit in your historical romance, you will love this story!

Delightful

Tessa Dare’s writing is always lighthearted and clever but this audiobook’s narrator is the ideal reader to perform and distinguish all the wonderful characters who populate her stories. I wish this reader would re-read Dare’s charming debut, Goddess of the Hunt, currently wrecked by a criminally awful awful awful reader. This Dukes series is a consistently delicious confection to read and hearing it brought to life so ably is a fresh pleasure.

Loved it

This is a delightful book with every character being witty and adorable. Chase was the cutest rogue I’ve ever read, he was hilarious to me. I want to recommend this book to my friend who doesn’t even read regency romances because it’s such enjoyable entertainment. I have to acknowledge Mary Jane Wells , a narrator who brings such talent, joy and humor to every book I personally have listened to her read. This is a winning combination to be sure, Tessa Dare and Mary Jane Wells. !

Such a cute story, and Mary Jane Wells is spectacular

This is one of my favorite stories narrated by the beat narrator in all of Audiobooks. If I win the lottery I am going to pay for Mary Jane Wells to re-record all of my favorite romance novels. Her American accent is atrocious, but for books with no Americans in them, nobody is her equal. This story has two extremely likeable and multidimensional clever main characters and a bunch of also-excellent secondary characters. It is just fantastic and happy and funny and endearing and cute.

Laugh out loud and lovely!

This is the most hilarious, laugh out loud romance I have ever listened to and I absolutely adore it. I know that the book itself would have been a great read but the narrator absolutely made this book!
