This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... Der Sandmann is an enhancement of the children's fable of the sandman, a nefarious demon that steals the eyes of children. In Hoffmann' story, the mad scientist Dr Cornelius uses eyes to animate robots he builds. One of these machines, "mein bestes Automat", disrupts the love affair by wooing the protagonist from his true love.

The narration is a lot and the stories are just as much
These stories are kind of like those of Gogol, and with John McDonagh's narration the overall production is very much like Peter Batchelor reading Gogol's Collected Stories.
If you came here for "The Nutcracker" and similarly festive stuff, turn around and find something with that up front in the title. These are weird, and the narrator leans in hard on that.
