A coastal summer is turned upside down by a violent murder, and a quest for lost pirate treasure turns into a hunt for the killer.

A mercinary lives by her own rules, and a prince wants to see her under his command. Freeing her from the shadows of her past has a high price, but will he pay it?

In the perilous jungles of the North, luck is something in short supply as two strangers set off on a dangerous mission that may just bring them together...if it doesn't kill them first.

Good story, poor narration.

Very choppy throughout the male narrative, and it became very distracting. Otherwise it was good.

Great back stories

Loved how the characters were developed and brought to connection with the air awakens books. Explaining the relationships.

Always a great listen

So I’ve had this book for a while now, and I thought of put this review and previously, but apparently I not. I love listening to the books but for some reason this time it keeps skipping I’m not sure why. I mean I can still follow along and it’s still a great story still a good book and I will still always really listen lol.

Great series!

The story follows a young woman through life's challenges.... love, war, heartache, sacrifice, and peace. The series is a roller coaster of happiness and heartbreak. I love that the story is fully completed and I don't have to buy another series to get a quality conclusion.

Don't love the "new" accents

After finishing the Air Awakens series it is hard to hear the characters with previously unmentioned or heard accents. Like, why does Daniel have an Australian accent? Feels like the performer was just trying to show off his range. He also pronounces names differently than the performer of the main series, which is SUPER distracting. Good stories, glad I bought it, just a bit annoyed with the creative liberties the performer took.

Amazing

I loved the male narrator. He made me feel like he was telling the story, I could FEEL everything. The female narrator sounded like she was reading, very stiff like listening to Siri. Thank goodness she was only on the second book half the time. I loved all 3 of these books regardless. Elise Kova is officially my favorite author!!!

Good books- but

The second one had a lot of flaws in recording- repeated sentences and skips. Also, I would have fathered hearing the guy read all of it. There was a female that would read the “female “ chapters, but every time she tried to do a “guy” voice- it REALLY makes you cringe… anywa, overall, excellent books. Love Miss Kiva’s work!!

Not well edited.

The story was great but the Audio production was terrible. Many lines were repeated and seem to jump over the story.

Fascinating Prequel Trilogy

I adored the Golden Guard in the Air Awakens series and their origin stories in this Prequel Trilogy did not disappoint! In addition to the origins of each member of the Golden Guard there were a few surprise back stories that added significant richness to the Air Awaken’s series. The Crown’s Dog was the most “Fantasy” of the three books. It was fun to get to know Erion, after not knowing much about him in Air Awakens. Jax, of course, is hilarious but tragic. The Prince’s Rogue had the most “Romance” and an absolute badass leading lady! Having half the book from Baldair’s POV was the icing on the cake. As a huge fan of Daniel and Craig but mostly Daniel, I was excited for The Farmer’s War. Their backstory was the most surprising for me and had a hint of “Enemies to Lovers” except instead of lovers it’s brothers.

Personally I enjoyed reading Air Awaken’s first and then this Trilogy, but you can probably read either one first and still enjoy them.

There were a few editing issues with the audio version, and while a little annoying in the moment they did not take away from the over all awesomeness of the story.

Great story, poor narration

The story itself was amazing but there is a quality issue where it skips around and repeats in a few areas. It really needs some corrections to improve the issues.
