After mourning her late husband, moving to Nicollet Island was meant to be a new beginning. Instead, at sixty-two, Daisy’s life is cruelly being stolen from her by dementia and the pandemic. Forced into isolation, she must navigate her cognitive decline while fear of death and societal turmoil overtake the country.
When Daisy was young, before bitterness corrupted her mother’s soul, she asked, “How can we know for sure that Jesus was God’s son and that everything in the Bible is true?”
Her mother responded, “There are many things we can’t prove, but we must choose to believe them anyway.”
But it has not been that simple.
As the tapestry of her life unravels in her mind, Daisy pulls out threads of pivotal relationships, traumatic losses, and historical tragedies that intermingle with current events. In pursuit of spiritual resolution, she struggles with the dualities of human nature in this provocative reflection of life, spirituality, and politics.
