Seizing on the texts above, writers of both fiction and nonfiction allowed their pens to run freely amidst conjecture and postulation of marriage and children between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. The writers of The Da Vinci Code and Holy Blood, Holy Grail took these passages and expanded them into storylines that have held audiences captive with anticipation. Did Jesus take Mary to be his wife? Could the couple have produced children? Gnostic theology leaves open the possibility.

I always wondered why the Bible was about a diety that seemed to have a big ol multiple personality disorder, granted I imagine the creater of everything both seen and not, know and unknown, understood and in ignorance would probably need to be. I wonder if somebody will publish a new Bible that includes these books finally, they paint a way difteent picture for us when all together.

Is a challenge but is absolutely worth the listen.

The narrator reads it with a deep voice and in the beginning is a challenge but don’t give up please. Once you have overcome this little thing everything else is knowledge.

Not a believer

The Narrator is not a believer. He loves the sound of his own voice. Makes it very hard to Focas on what I wanted to learn from this book

I'm not saying that I am certain this is a purer truth than the English translated standard bible, which has errors in it if you reference the original Greek and hebrew manuscripts. what I am saying is it's good to know what gnostics believe. How can you tell someone that it's a wrong if you never even studied it? I. not saying it's wrong though. I personally need to research more. Some of it makes more sense than the traditional constantinian bible that we have today.

yes, the information was well organized and well presented. And I like the narrator's voice and style.

What other book might you compare The Gnostic Gospels of Philip, Mary Magdalene, and Thomas to and why?

The Book of Enoch A Complete Guide and Reference, The Book of Giants and the First and Second Books of Enoch; all because of the narrator.

Any additional comments?

If I hadn't heard the Book of Enoch A complete Guide and Reference first, this title would have made me want to check out other titles that Dennis Logan has narrated and listen to them all.

Slow narrator

I had to speed this up to 1.3 to be tolerable. As for the content, there really isn’t much there. I reccomend just reading these gospels on a free pdf online.

One, Long, Run-on Sentence

Dennis Logan's listless, toneless delivery drains any and all literary interest out of this book. How he manages to speak without hinting at any punctuation is astonishing. It is difficult to image a career where this kind of "communication" would be valuable. I am actually very interested in the subject but this is the second book that I have tried narrated by him and there will not be a third. I wish that Audible had a feature where I could filter out any book done by him.

Interesting, but poor narrating and editing

Don't know enough about the subject to comment on the accuracy or not.

Would you be willing to try another one of Dennis Logan’s performances?

Probably not. Not only did he narrate in what I was calling his "Monster Truck Announcer" voice (THIS SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! WE'LL SELL YOU THE WHOLE SEAT BUT YOU'LL ONLY NEED THE EDDDGGGEEE!!!"), but it was so poorly edited as to be distracting. His vocal flubs and retakes were left in as is, so it was hard to listen to him flub a line and then repeat the same line once or twice more (although to be fair, that was the result of the editor and not Logan's performance).
