All-around outstanding!

I really loved this book. The story was insightful, sometimes sad, sometimes funny, and always riveting. The narrator does an excellent job with quite a diverse cast of characters. I really hope that Audible makes the rest of the series available. Five stars and two thumbs up!

nice story

loved the story. the narrator was very good, at least until she did the voice of the American! i had to laugh, it sounded like she had watched to many old westerns! plus she made the 16 year old boy sound like he was six! other than that i cant wait to listen to the rest of the series!

Not a narrative structure as you know it

I kept waiting for the build up and climax of the story - there isn't one!

Such a realistic story line

Love this book, written with such an eye for detail. Having heard my mum’s stories of the war, this really reminded me of those and those times. Wonderful

A great story about the war years

As always Rosie Clarke is so good at describing people. I’m totally there when I listen to her books.
Sue Riddell’s reading is excellent and she brings the story to life.
