Publisher's summary

"Take her out back and finish her off."

She doesn’t know who she is. She doesn’t know where she is, or why. All she knows when she comes to in a ransacked cabin is that there are two men arguing over whether or not to kill her.

And that she must run.

In her riveting style, April Henry crafts a nail-biting thriller involving murder, identity theft, and biological warfare. Follow Cady and Ty (her accidental savior turned companion), as they race against the clock to stay alive.

Strong start sputters to a stall....

Interesting begging, strong middle, culminating in a rushed and far fetched ending. The last two hours felt like a YA novel. I guess it was worth the $1.99, but definitely NOT credit worthy....

Excellent suspense mystery for teens!

I enjoyed this short novel. The plot is not very complex and the characters are few in number. It is a nice quick listen with really good narration.

Starts with potential, then falls short

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The beginning of this book was very promising, but then the story fell apart in my opinion. Just not really feasible/believable.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Very ROBOTIC pronunciation, especially when attempting a male voice. Ev-er-y syll-a-ble pro-nounced in a ve-ry un-na-tur-al way.

Okay YA thriller

I actually did not realize that this was a young adult novel when I bought this. I really liked the beginning, when the main character had no idea who she was, and someone was trying to kill her. It was fun, mindless suspense. The book captured the panic and helplessness of the girl's situation. The more she and we know, the more this devolved into a typical YA thriller. A little far-fetched, but fast moving. I enjoyed this enough to finish. I expect that young readers might like this a lot. I would rate the first half of this a fun 4 star thriller, but the second half faltered. I give a half-hearted endorsement for adults.

Painful

First of all, the narrator's voice was painful to listen to. It was as if she was just learning how to read.
Next, the story itself was hard to listen to because if the 16-year-old main character in the story was supposed to be telling the story, NO 16-year-old has a vocabulary like she did.
Needless to say I would not recommend this book or narrator.

scooby doo

I enjoyed the beginning of this book, but it quickly became a Scooby Doo mystery.

Hard to get through

I struggled with finishing this book. I think it is for an elementary school reader. I really struggled with listening to this book,. I had to forward to the end of several chapters just to get through to the finish. It seems like a mystery, then a romance, back to mystery.
