Cliffhangers are poor writing technique.

It is a super weak way to get people to buy the next book by dropping off in the middle of the climax. This book was barely a full act in a story and then the author drops it mid action? You got five books worth of credits out of me when I maybe should have spent three. I won’t be spending any more. I’ll read the synopsis somewhere. To find out what happens. I’m done with this series.

REPEAT !

I like the story but the author is repeating herself a lot.
Liana says a lot of words but nothing new, the story is getting a smidge redundant, because it is starting to repeat itself too much and she is getting a little too wordy. I don't know if I can make it through the next book if it's anything like this one. Did I say she repeats herself? Exactly!

Left me on the edge of my seat.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, but they should start at the beginning of this series would be helpful. It would introduce Liana and who she is to the reader.

What did you like best about this story?

It finally brings everything together, the characters, the problem and a solution, however don’t expect to find out what happens. That should be found out in the next book or maybe two.

What about Kirsten Leigh’s performance did you like?

Her ability to make ALL the characters come to life.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Bree’s brother leaving after he drops to a one and his anguish over losing his ranking.

Any additional comments?

I hope the next book will end this problem with the tower and lead to a book with all the characters from the Forrest and Tower coming together.

Tear Jerker!

I honestly was not expecting the turn of events that took place in this book.
I am left breathless, confused, sad and angry..
this story has cemented the very fact, I adore this writer.
absolutely a must read! Adventure, Stelth, Hidding, death and loyalty.
this story has it all!

Drawn out storyline

I really enjoy this series, but it is taking to long to get to the meat of the action and I often find myself wanting to skip ahead sometimes. I like this series, but it is a little predictable. I LOVED the Gender Games and have also enjoyed this one, minus all the sidebar conversations

Another good story

i did enjoy this book, but not as much as the others of his series. it seems that our leader is always in some kind of trouble.

no one likes cliffhangers

4 out of 5 for story because I find it tacky and rude when someone leaves their fans on a cliffhanger.... we made it 5 books and still buying books the least you could do is button up the story a little better between books..

Very Good Series

Looking forward to see how this group of young men and woman save the Tower!
I am enjoying this well thought out and detailed book of an idea of a future that isn't entirely far from possible.
Great Series so far!

Should be "girl who dared to think too much"

I couldn't finish this series, loved the gender game series by Bella Forrest so I thought i'd give this a try. Her editor was asleep on the job, this series could have been maybe two books. There is so much filler in here, for instance it takes a whole page to describe her opening a door seems like. Her inner thoughts are described in painful detail.

Very readable

Great story, exciting and twisting. A little too much time dedicated to recapping though and some words pronounced oddly. By the time you get to book 5 of a series you don’t really need to hear an explanation about everything that happened previously. Particularly if you binge listen like I do! Otherwise very good.

Starts out slow and depressing...

Starts out slow and depressing and at times I did question whether I wanted to continue But once you get past this aspect it gets back into a great story once again. I do however agree with other reviews in suggesting the author repeats the same content a fair bit which is a bit annoying especially if like myself you are not suffering amnesia. If you are also listening to the audiobook version the repetition unnecessarily adds to the expense of this book series and I might add a further 2 more books are remaining making it rather expensive, 7 * $15 AUD = $105 for the book series and it feels like it should be one large book as the individual books are segments of the same core story like chapters. Otherwise I do enjoy this series but it does make me question whether to read any other book series from this author given I realise it would be an expensive exercise.
