This book is taken from an informal writing seminar that Jamie Buckingham taught one year prior to his death. A number of Christian authors were in attendance. All of them were in ministry and had taken up writing as a part of their ministry, even though many were not trained as writers. Jamie was asked to impart his gift to them. The audience included some who were working on their first book and others who had sold millions of copies of their books.

Since the seminar was informal and not originally intended for publication, the participant's comments have been removed from the text.

Jamie shares out of his life. His purpose was to show how to draw on your own experiences for communicating in writing what God has given you. He deals with some technical aspects of writing, which will make you a better communicator and that will make your writing more interesting and readable. He urges you to write with excellence. But don’t let the lack of perfection keep you from writing.

Each chapter ends with a summary and one or more specific exercises to assist in your writing efforts.
