Acerca de esta escucha
The Engineering Castle is a real building that still exists. It remains one of the most sought-after landmarks in St. Petersburg, and it is steeped in legend, ghost stories, and lore every bit as much as Nikolai Leskov makes it sound.

Everyone’s heard of Nostradamus. No one’s heard of Philibert Montmorency. One was a legend. The other, not so much.... A newly discovered Nostradamus prophecy has taken the internet by storm thanks to "The Oblivion Doctrine", a group of online conspiracy theorists. Apparently the end is nigh. And in case anyone’s interested, nigh is definitely a Tuesday. Doctor Ally Oldfield, professor of Medieval Languages, is summoned to Lyon for a second opinion. She’s not happy about it. But then again she’s rarely happy about anything.

Thomas Ligotti’s debut collection, Songs of a Dead Dreamer, and his second, Grimscribe, permanently inscribed a new name in the pantheon of horror fiction. Influenced by the strange terrors of Lovecraft and Poe and by the brutal absurdity of Kafka, Ligotti eschews cheap, gory thrills for his own brand of horror, which shocks at the deepest, existential, levels.

As seen on The Travel Channel’s The Dead Files, My Haunted House and the Animal Planet’s The Haunted, Hanover Haunting will leave you sleeping with the lights on. The haunting was so extreme, Amy Allen from The Dead Files warned DeAnna, “There are five men here and they all want you dead!” As DeAnna Simpson stood on the sidewalk, she knew she had to own the house on Maple Avenue. It called to her in a way she couldn’t explain. What she didn’t realize was that her dream home was filled with unspeakable evil.

An interesting read on a castle with many “spooky” occurrences
This book was pretty interesting but not one I’d listen to for a second time. While the events seemed pretty interesting and worth more looking into, the actual accounting of the events were rather shallow in comparison to the amount
of history behind each of the events. My point is that there was quite the interesting story to be told by reading this book though the execution of how much information was given regarding each event was minimal. Given the book is roughly half an hour, I think it could have been much better if the 30 minutes were to be focused entirely on picking apart one of the many examples of spooky occurrences happening in the castle. Though regardless, I do plan to look for other books by the narrator as he did a great job throughout the narration. Perhaps I’ll do the same for the author if his next book is longer.
