Publisher's summary

A scientist with a secret...a colonist ship under attack...and only one man can save them both.

After barely surviving the horrors in ACM mine 1134, Justin Barclay and his ghostly tagalong board a colonist ship bound for a new world. As they explore the futuristic colonist city within the ship, they quickly realize all is not as it seems.

The arrival of Dr. Hallie Hayes, a fugitive scientist, arrives on the colonist ship shortly after. Her charge: get her life’s work to the core Coalition planets before it falls into the wrong hands.

But she’s too late.

Her pursuers have tracked her to the colonist ship...and they’ve brought a literal army with them.

Lovestruck and eager to strike at Hallie’s enemies for his own personal reasons, Justin fights to preserve her secret and stop her pursuers once and for all.

Can Justin save Hallie before the enemy captures her and seizes her life’s work? Or will his intervention unleash an even greater calamity in the process?

The Ghost Pact is the second book in the riveting Tech Ghost series of sci-fi thrillers set in the far-flung future, perfect for fans of the Alien film franchise, Dead Space video games, and Nemesis board games.

A compelling and fast-paced follow-up to the original

Ben Wolf takes us on a wild adventure through space. Starting with mining asteroids for precious metals to docking with a colonist ship bound for a new world, this is a fun romp with plenty of peril, action, and even a hint of romance.

Justin Barclay is up to hijinks again, this time with help from an old friend. When frightening enemies show up, they must work together to solve the problem… in turn only creating an even bigger, nastier one!

It’s all thrills from start to finish. If you loved Ghost Mine, this continuation will keep you on the hook, begging for book three.

Fantastic series!💜

I’m really enjoying this sci-fi thriller series although IMO book 2 has very little to do with book 1 besides the main character. That said, this story has a unique twist in circumstances and Justin’s adventures continue with new enemies and friends. Not as much action and gore as in book 1 but totally not needed for this story. I was intrigued and also excited to see an old friend return.
The narration performed by Joe Hempel was absolutely brilliant.
This is book 2 and the adventures continues.
I highly recommend this book/series.

Different than book 01

Different than book one. Less monsters of the grotesque fashion and more monsters of the human fashion.

Look forward to seeing where book three goes!

Full Throttle

Justin just survived his last mine assignment, now he is on to another job well him and his ghost friend. On the ship taking them to another world they explore the ships colonist city they find all is not as it seems and it never turns out well for Justin.
This book is way exciting maybe even more than the first book, it has full throttle action and suspense that will have you holding your breath. The narrator Joe Hempel takes you inside the story and you find yourself racing along with Justin and his friends. It is quite the ride and one you don’t want to miss.

The Series Gets Better!

Picking up a few months after the life changing events of the first book, Justin is once again mining. This time he and his ghostly partner Keyonte (spelling?) are on a small, independent freighter.
Right from the opening scenes this story brings the action. In many ways I actually enjoyed this story more than the first one. There is a bit more humor, without the toxic masculinity of the bully (Dirk maybe?) of the last book to hate. There is still an antagonist, he just isn’t pushing himself on women nor taking every opportunity to be a prick. Also missing are Justin’s continuing desperate attempts to be with a woman who doesn’t want him, which in its own way was a form of bullying and harassment. Take a hint, JB!
Key plays an instrumental role in this story. His continued friendship with Justin remains strong, and beneficial in numerous ways beyond wingman. He develops more in this story than Justin does, and become more likable than the affable character we met in book one.
Joe Hempel does a great job with this story! His portrayal of Keyonte in particular is a pleasure to listen to. He truly captures the character’s personality, vocal mannerisms, and emotional struggles as a ghost who’s main goal is to see his mother again. To that end, the whole dynamic between Key and Justin is just handled wonderfully. The rest of the book is performed to Hempel’s usual standards of adroit professionalism, but he definitely nailed the buddy relationship.
