This is a story of being lost and discovering things hidden in the mountains of Thailand. The author gets lost in the mountains and waters of nothern Thailand.Eventually he finds himself sitting with a Shaman of a little known tribe, and having a deep discussion about the nature of Time itself and how we experience it.
The nature of just the communication problems reveal basic questions bewteen a western mind and the mind with more of Buddhist approach.
All of this happens shortly after the death of the author's infant daughter after being alive for only 6 months. Then there are many attempts to get pregnant again.Parts of this description are described with humorand easy to imagine.
Thre character of the Shaman is detailed to the point where we can almost see and hear him.I found the experience of reading the book to be fascinating adn enjoyable in its subject matter and in the emotional reactions of the author
