Publisher's summary

She is someone's darkest desire

Playing the victim of a vampire king on an island off New Orleans is actress Avalon Morgan's creepiest role to date. It's also scary good fun—until the victim of a real killer is discovered on set, laid out for all to see. With production shut down, Avalon can't stop thinking about the chilling crime scene, or Grayson Avery, the investigator working the case.

With a rising body count and zero leads, Gray can't help but be impressed by Avalon's amateur sleuthing, which takes her to the darkest corners of the internet, where killers confess their crimes. One such account is a dead ringer for the murders, but when the evidence vanishes, nobody believes Avalon—except for Gray. With no one they can trust, Avalon and Gray are determined to unbury the truth at any cost, but a return to the deadly island could be the last thing they do.

Keeps you guessing

Good story, kept my full attention all the way to the end. Loved it. Roger Wayne does a fantastic job as the narrator. I never lost track of which character was speaking.

The Forbidden

Set in New Orleans, complete with ghosts, murderers, NOLA PD, the FBI and a group filming a vampire short. So who is killing beautiful young women and laying them out like beautiful dolls? Perfect setting for a paranormal murder mystery investigation! Audiobook by Roger Wayne is very well done also!

Great book

Heather Graham delivers another great story. I love this series. Always keeps me guessing who the villain(s) are in all her books.

An OK novel but not her best

Story was going well, was a bit choppy in places however the ending seemed rushed. No great build up to the ending

It's ok.

All of Heather Graham's books follow the same plot - 1-murder, 2-hostility between male and female, 3-sex, 4-male or female is kidnapped and is saved just in time, 5-the guilty person(s) was never suspected, 6-they decide they are in love. In this story the sex is later than usual but still in that order.

I own most of her books and the majority are entertaining listens. It keeps me interested but there is never twists and turns, unexpected paths, and there is never any clues to the culprit. Or maybe I just miss them. It sometimes feels like the author decides on the last page who will be the murderer.

Sadly, not one of her best.

I have to admit I really struggled to get through this book. I am not thrilled with this narrator even with a great story line but this one just seemed to DRAG on and on. I considered abandoning it several times but I stuck it out. I was glad I did because the ending was decent.

I have her next few books ready to listen to and I hope they are better. This one just felt thrown together with a plot from another book. I have always loved this author and the psychic aspects of her characters which has made the lackluster narration tolerable.
