Detailed, powerful and worth it
Yan Geling is an incredible writer! I generally don’t have time to read but the audiobook is a nice alternative and love listening on my commute on the train.

Potent Story and Wonderful Writing
I normally avoid WWII story, especially about China due to its misery and sufferings. However, the movie “The Flowers of War” is so compelling that forever etched in my mind. When I found out this movie is actually based on this book, I can’t help but read it. This book didn’t disappoint me. It is powerful, honest, and really wonderful.
