Publisher's Summary

Heidi Duffin has been dreaming about opening her own bakery since she was 13 years old, and now she only has one year left before she's a certified pastry chef. Frank Ackerman's father has recently retired, and he's taken over the largest cattle ranch in the Texas Panhandle. He convinces Heidi to come clean the cowboy cabins, but the siren's call of a bakery is still loud in Heidi's ears, even if she's also seeing a future with Frank. Can she rely on her faith in ways she's never had to before, or will their relationship end when summer does?

Loved it

The First Lady of Three Rivers Ranch is a sweet Christian romance set in the 1980’s. I enjoyed the touching storyline and interesting characters. The way they turn to God through prayer and wanted to follow His will was refreshing. The narrator gave a delightful performance and has a sweet ‘country’ sound.

A prequel to the series!

Story: 5 stars *I received this audiobook in exchange for my honest review* I loved Frank and Heidi’s story! It takes place in the 1980’s and the occasional mention of Heidi’s clothes and the fact that everyone had to communicate with wall-phones and letters was a blast from the past! This is probably my favorite of the books. I’m not sure why, but it was kind of magical. Heidi brought the whole ranch together with her cooking and that made them a family. Her relationship with her sister is also a sweet touch to the book. I like that both Frank and Heidi rely on prayer to see them through hard times, but also answers as to the path they should take. Narration: 4.5 Ms Doughty does an excellent job, as always. I do have a hard time telling the difference between her cowboy-accented voice and her non-cowboy-accented voice. But really, she has a wonderful voice and I love listening to her narrate! *poor, **ok, ***good, ****very good, *****something special

Sweet and tender love story

A slow moving romance that will keep your attention. The adorable Heidi seems quite naïve, but then I may have been somewhat so when I was that age. Life on a ranch is always busy. Thanks to the author for providing a copy for my voluntary review. I look forward to reading or listening to more of her stories,.

Aaahh, what a delightfully narrated story

The First Lady of Three Rivers Ranch - I’ve listened to books 1-3 M.A.N.Y. times, read a couple more and now have been enjoying listening to the “prequel” - the sweet story of the parents, beautifully - expertly - read (performed!) by Narrator Becky Doughty. Of the nearly 50 audio books I have, she definitely is my No. 1 narrator. So grateful for this gifted audio books. Definitely going to be listening to it again. And again...

Sweet romance, engaging and entertaining

I received a free copy of the audio book and was requested to leave a review. This is an enjoyable sweet romance story, part of Liz Isaacson's Three Rivers Ranch series. I liked the characters, particularly since they were very believable, unsure of themselves and their developing relationship and working out a way to be together. I think there are often compromises to be made in relationships, so Heidi's struggle to decide what she wants most, her budding romance with Frank or to continue her studies based away from him, again felt very real. Things don't just fall into place and the characters have to work for their happy ending. The book has Christian themes which I felt fitted very well with the story and characters, as their faith is important to both Heidi and Frank. The book is well read and the narrator does a good job.
