Thought Provoking

An amazing and different take on the thevblack experience. with of a middle road that offers the love of MLK with the fervor of Malcolm X without making harsh criticism of either.

Wow...

It’s not easy to listen to and try to understand Baldwin’s challenge... But his words are unmistakably read. It’s really a beautiful reading of a beautiful piece of writing. The challenge is, of course daunting, necessary, not to be postponed...

Sadly Still Relevant

Seems like what James Baldwin wrote then could have been written yesterday and indeed the very things he wrote then are being repeated today.

I guess the message needs to be continually repeated until it is heard, understood and acknowledged, then the information used to create a new reality.

This book really made me think and definitely struck a chord. Baldwin seemed to have a unique ability to hold his own position while observing the position and opinions of others...integrity. For him I am thankful.

Excellent - A must Read

I particularly like the inner honesty and the personal political enlightenment journey. This was a re- read from more than 30 years ago. Still an inspiring and relevant piece of black theoretical philosophy.

This should be required reading for the entire human race

I was absolutely floored by the raw power of this book. A wonderful audio performance as well.
