Publisher's summary

Second Edition—reedited and reformatted with extended scenes you've never heard before!

He’s the prince of the Ice people; the kingdom of Icardia is his metaphorical oyster. He always thought his time would be occupied by boring parties, icicle liquor, and ascending the throne. He never expected the darkest force known to the universe to come knocking at the door—no less obliterating it, threatening his family and his planet. Now Isaiah is stuck on Earth, with humans, trying to reasonably pass as one while awaiting news from home.

And that’s not even the worst part. The Fire king, whose kingdom just so happens to neighbor his own, made him promise to look after his one and only daughter, Heidi, the biggest thorn in his side since…well, nothing’s ever bothered him as much as she does.

She’s constantly putting them at risk when her emotions get the best of her—getting dissected by scientists? No thanks. She’s more stubborn than he ever dreamed of being—and that’s saying a lot. Plus, she’s always calling him "insufferable" or "ridiculous"—the list goes on and on.

But the absolute worst of it? Aside from the fact their families, their kingdoms, and the rest of the universe is in grave danger? He’s pretty sure he’s falling in love with her.

A Bit Disappointing

A Bit Disappointing

Parents- PG13-R- Really meant more for 17+ readers
Language- PG13-R- started without bad language and then it increased- several F-bombs (almost made me stop listening)
Violence- PG- normal to genre nothing too violent/graphic
Sexual Content- PG13-R- lots of build up to bedroom scenes (skipped through a few parts so I'm not sure how detailed it gets)

Sadly the book fell a bit flat, the story was a bit too very obvious at times with what was going to happen and then at other times it was just too convenient. I had higher hopes for it from the summary and at first I thought it was mainly the narration but it just wasn't very exciting and I struggled a bit to finish it.

Narrator- (2 ⭐) was a slow, a bit monotone, not very good with accents or voice differentiation. Listening at 1.45x speed helped.

Couldn’t get beyond chapter 3

This really should’ve been identified as a YA. The first three chapters of teenage anguish was boring. Here is a being that is supposedly thousands of years old whining about the guy that was sent to earth with her. Plus, during the intro, there was a warning that there were triggers of sexual assault in chapter 14. If this is true, why isn’t that mention in the description of the book before anyone has a chance to purchase it. Finally, I was not real impressed with Ms. Penny’s narration. However she was probably perfect for this story because she sounded very youthful.
