Publisher's summary

The thrilling sequel to the runaway best seller The Last Girl.

Zoey is not the woman she once was. She's watched her friends die at the hands of their captors, been hunted, and returned from the brink of death. Now she must find the truth about who she is.

In search of the family she never knew, Zoey learns of personal records stored in an Idaho missile silo that may contain the information she and the other women seek. With the help of her group of newfound friends, Zoey travels to the missile facility, but among the records, they uncover information that leads to an insidious and horrific new foe: the Fae Trade, a macabre carnival of slavery and pain.

Zoey's journey into the darkest parts of the human psyche brings her perilously close to the ever-thinning line between good and evil, and the final cost in her quest for justice might be her own humanity.

Very engaging series

Much better than I expected. I will definitely look for more by this author. Fully formed characters, engaging storyline and thoughtful insights. Wish the series had more than three books now :(.

Interesting and engaging

The story continuation is both engaging and interesting. Certainly not the great American novel but interesting still. The premise is still along the typical alt universe with a twist. If you like survival stories you should like this one. I plan on going on and reading others in the series. I'm curious as to what happens to the various characters.

Completely Riveting

Amazing follow-up to the first story in the series. Very fast-paced plot that keeps you in the edge of your seat. The world-building is incredible - so unique yet so believable. Character growth keeps things interesting, and plot twists keep you guessing the whole way.

Excellent sequel

What made the experience of listening to The Final Trade the most enjoyable?

Having read the prequel a few months before, I was delighted to hear there was a follow-on. It didn't disappoint, we are brought through the fraught existence in a post-war world where young females are much sought after.

#abrknpoet reviews The Final Trade

The Final Trade by Joe Hart is the second book in the Dominion Trilogy, a dystopian thriller series set in a world where women are rare and hunted by a ruthless government. The protagonist, Zoey, is one of the few surviving women who escaped from a prison-like facility where she was experimented on and tortured. In this book, she embarks on a quest to find her family and the truth about her origins, but along the way she faces a new enemy: the Fae Trade, a sinister carnival where women are sold as slaves and men fight to the death for them.

The book is fast-paced and action-packed, with twists and turns that keep the reader hooked. Hart creates a vivid and bleak vision of a post-apocalyptic America, where violence, corruption and cruelty are rampant. Zoey is a strong and determined heroine, who struggles with her own morality and humanity as she faces the horrors of the Fae Trade. The book also explores themes such as identity, loyalty, friendship and love, as Zoey bonds with her companions and encounters new allies and enemies.

The Final Trade is a gripping and suspenseful read that will appeal to fans of dystopian fiction and thrillers. It is a worthy sequel to The Last Girl, and sets the stage for an epic finale in The Last City.
