Nesbit published dozes of books for children around the turn of the 20th century. Emma Gregory's performance of this one is melodic. Her almost-whispered voice is light and airy. She employs a warm tone. Meanwhile, the relaxed pacing appeals to young ears, as do Gregory's fun voices for the colorful cast of characters. Overall, "The Fiery Dragon" proves a sweet, female-driven tale for children.
