Publisher's summary

The Family of Flocking Birds is based on a true story about the emotions that help us fly when everything around us crumbles. Fleeing Germany to escape the Nazis and building a new life in Brazil is just the background to tell a much richer story of connection between people and families. The book brings to life the journey of Margaret and Santo and their children, whose strength and resilience remained long after they were gone.

The Family of Flocking Birds opens a pathway for current generations to feel what Margaret and Santo may have felt, and to finally learn what they had to teach us.

Excellent story and narration

It is a short audible that tells a amazing true love story tempered with forced immigration. A story that is common to many people living specially in the Americas. Mr. O’Rourke interpretation add a fantastic dimension to the story, you can feel the emotions.

Incredible story, beautifully written and wonderfully narrated

The book tells the story of a family forced to leave their home in Germany due to their Jewish roots, and the journey they embark on to find safety and a new life in a foreign land. The author does a remarkable job capturing the emotional rollercoaster of their experience. It is a story of deep love, strength, grief, and resilience.
What is most striking about this book is the incredible serendipity and unlikely (many times unfair) events that occur along the way, which makes the story all the more incredible. The author’s attention to detail and vivid descriptions bring to life this incredible true story.
The narration of the book is also outstanding. The narrators voice is engaging, immersing the listener in the story. The pacing is just right, allowing the listener to fully experience the emotional impact of each event.

Highly recommend!!
