Soundings and Choc Lit present the audiobook edition of The Fake Date

Nine hours and 11 minutes....

That’s how long it’s been since Ella Hope was beaten to within an inch of life and left for dead. She lies, unable to move and praying for somebody to find her, as she wonders who could have hated her so much to have hurt her. Was it the man she went on a date with the previous evening, the man linked to the deaths of two other women? Or somebody else, somebody who wants her out of the picture so much they’re willing to kill?

Whoever it is, they will pay. All Ella has to do first is survive....

Totally engrossing

Such a great book. The plot was very well thought out and I was so engrossed before I’d even finished the first chapter. It has lots of twists and turns that you don’t see coming. Totally worth the read. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a tense thriller with twists and turns. I couldn’t read this book quick enough. I loved it.

A Sunday afternoon book

This seems like a Barbara Cartland or Mills & Boon love story (some scenes made me chuckle). But to make up a lengthy book the ‘suspense’ part was added. Only 6 people had reviewed the book before I bought it and as it was rated highly I thought there must be something to it. Unfortunately not, even if you listen on 1.25speed (which I had to) it is slow and quite a stretch to get through. Maybe reading the book on a Sunday afternoon might be better.

I liked it until the Climax/ falling action

I thought it was good up until the story confirmed certain details, then I felt it was boring and detail lost. It seemed to end fairly quickly after that.

A few hours of my life I will never get back

This is so badly written, overuse of descriptives , weak characters and stories, unrealistic settings. The narration was equally as bad, the narrator made the main characters who were supposed to be young and attractive sound like old women, very strange indeed.
