Though the first book didn’t leave me wanting for much more of the series, I had already purchased the trilogy and so I listened to this entry as well. I think my standards must be too high but this book was just as mediocre as the first. There are decent spicy scenes in both the first book and this one, but it’s not a very fulfilling read, sorry-wise. I am no stranger to romantasy, and there are always factors you have to sort of brush-aside to immerse yourself in the world of the book. The inability of the characters to act like themselves, or have any true set of characteristics they exhibit other than “pinching the bridge of their nose” makes getting into the story very difficult.
