3rd book and the worm is firmly hooked!

Great narrator.

Story is great, easy to grasp without anything being obvious what's to happen next.

A great read for all ages.

One of the children in my class urged me to read the Skulduggery Pleasant books and after much persuading I gave in and my only regret is that I only get two credits a month!

This is the third in the series and sees a continuation of the arc begun in book one. We see all of the characters evolve and the writing remains engaging and surprising in some cases. I was convinced I knew who the villain was only to be surprised by the final reveal.

The narration is superb.

Reignited interest in Series

Bought this for son who had enjoyed reading first, but drifted off half way through second book. He loved it and has now read the two subsequent books himself!

Fantastic fun!

The series gets better and better! Brilliantly read by Rupert Degas, this is one of the best kids series around though it's equally excellent for us adults.

Great story and Rupert Degas is just a fab reader!

This is the second Skullduggery I've listened to by the same reader and it didn't disappoint. I love the dry humorous way it's written. Rupert really makes it a pleasure to listen to. Already have the 3rd one ready. :)

Addicted!

When I first started this series I wasn't too sure what to expect. Officially it's listed as a children's book, however, I'm not to sure that's entirely accurate. I'm 25 and there have been many points in which I've burst out laughing or been completely dumbfounded by a twist. There are definitely points in these books that would make me question giving it to children. One thing I can be sure on though, is that I've just finished book 3 and can't wait to start book 4.

Super for all Ages

I’m a 52 year old Male, so not just for the young. I read/listen to Crime, Fantasy and Sc-Fi and was recommended these books by my Son, who read them and a teenager and who is reading them again in his twenties. I was unsure, so 3 weeks ago I started listening to book one, I have now just finished book four. Can’t put them down. To add to the fantastic stories and characters, the Narrator Brian Bowles, is one of the best I have listened to.

Skulduggery Pleasant is a series of fantasy novels written by Irish author Derek Landy. The books revolve around the adventures of the skeleton detective, Skulduggery Pleasant, his protegé, Valkyrie Cain, along with other friends. The central story arc concerns Valkyrie's struggle to stop evil forces threatening the world, finally find justice for her late uncle's death, and her internal struggle to resist the darkness within.

This book is my second favourite after 'The Last Stand of the Dead Men'. It's really captivating and the twists are so delicious, especially the last one ;)

A Fun Ride

The narration of this book is amazing! Each character has a unique voice and helps add to the personality of each character. I had a bit of nostalgia while listening to this book because I read them as they were coming out and love the series. I highly recommend this audiobook series to anyone who loves magic, humour, action and crime. It has some Harry potter aspects but are highly different to harry potter itself. It does get quite dark at points but I think anyone who has read Harry Potter or any Rick Riordan books would love this series.
