Influenced by the Europeans' relaxed relationship with sex, Aubri develops a fascination that puts Indiana in a difficult bind. Will he break his promise to Aubri's father and let her explore while she can? Or will he do what no one has managed to do before: Make her see reason?

Disappointed

Men of the North has been one of my favorite series, until now. There is a different female narrator, it really ruined the book. Her voice was whiny and petulant, instead of confident and sexy like Noelle Bridges portrayed them.
John Masterson was awesome as usual.

Enjoyed the exploration of Old Europe

Another very entertaining story. The french accent was a bit painful at first but I got used to it. Disclaimer I am French LOL

Another great addition to the series!

This series is so much fun! Romance in a fragmented world years after a great devastation where three surviving communities have rebuilt completly isolated from one another. By the time they begin to mingle again, the worlds they have constructed dramatically clash but there are incentives to overcome their differences.

The men of the north are a warrior society with very few women and the author does a good job of explaining how that happened. They are big, strong, free and very naive about relationships. Women are prized and protected. Men train all their lives compete in battle for a wife.

The Motherlanders are ruled by women who blame the great devastation on power hungry men. That society regulates its citizens against any kind of aggression. The sexes there don't have masculine or feminine traits or expectations. They are a very gentle society that encourages positive open and free relationships, however they are squeamish about old fashioned carnal contact. They prefer robots to satisfy desires so no one gets their feelings hurt.

The old European society lived in underground bunkers for hundreds of years after the devastation and are just beginning rebuild above ground, but space is limited. They have interesting measures in place to repopulate and that is their focus along with cleaning up the land so more of their people can live above ground.

The author uses romancing couples from different societies to weave a complex world where societal traditions are challenged in the name of love. At this point in the series, long standing customs have begun to soften but there is still much distrust.

Do yourself a favor and start with book one. You have many, many hours quality entertainment ahead of you!

5 star narration, 5 star story. Appropriately placed hot romance, a little bit of strong language but I don't recall anyone taking the Lord's name in vain. If this was a movie, and it definitely should be, I think it would be rated "R"

Bring back narrator Noelle Bridges!

The new female narrator, Mia Madison, does not suit the N-women characters at all! Her voice is flat and childlike. I love the entire series, and especially like the next generation’s stories, but please bring back Noelle Bridges! John Masterson is great, as always.

New female narrator distracting

I hate it when long book series suddenly get new narrators. I’d love to say this an exception, but it’s not. The new female narrator is horrible, she makes all the characters sound the same and sounds nothing like the previous narrator, who brought all the characters alive. I am so happy that the same male narrator is there, he continues to do a great job. I’d like to advocate for all of us, please stop switching narrators when it comes to book series. Trust me, we all notice and we all hate it!

Definitely addictive. The whole series was great and I'm sad to let it go now that it's over. I appreciate it being free and wonder why all the best series I find always are. I 100% recommend all the books in this series. The author has done a great job making everyone relatable and each book enjoyable.

Love the story!!!

One thing about Men of the North…it’s always an entertaining. The new generation of Northlanders are really fun to watch. Aubrey and Indiana lived charmed lives. Fortunate to grow up surrounded by all these grownups that have different cultural backgrounds. Indiana is a true Nman with the protector gene ingrained in him. He is so awesome. Aubrey is a shining example of how the Northlands is changing, it’s the Northland woman with a new mindset. Aubrey got them a job as explorers, a stinky profession to Old France and an challenging adventure to them. Aubrey wants to be that pioneer like her mother, her aunt, Raven, Shelly Etc…and just by being her great explorer self she comes up with a plan that will greatly benefit the whole world. It’s a super story with all the political strife and thoughtful positive compromises that make me think Elgin Peer should run for president Lol

New female narrator is terrible

I loved this series before they changed the female narrator. The new narrator’s voice is makes the characters sound whiny, petulant and with very little depth or distinction. It would have been better with the male narrator reading both parts.

Such a Brat!

Aubrey was such an obnoxious brat that I wanted to lay her out. The storyline was good; interesting hearing POV from the Northlands, Motherlands, and Old World Europe. Narrators did a good job with characters; however, previous female narrator was much better. On to the next book in series!

Love the series.

I love the series. I am not sure about the female narrative now that they changed her but it was still good.
