Publisher's summary

Too few people attending church today, even those in evangelical churches, are exposed to the gospel explicitly. Sure, many will hear about Jesus, and about being good and avoiding bad, but the gospel message simply isn't there--at least not in its specificity and its fullness. Inspired by the needs of both the overchurched and the unchurched, and bolstered by the common neglect of the explicit gospel within Christianity, Matt Chandler has written this punchy treatise. He begins with the specifics of the gospel--outlining what it is and what it is not--and then switches gears to focus on the fullness of the gospel and its massive implications on both personal and cosmic levels. Recognizing our tendency to fixate on either the micro or macro aspects of the gospel, Chandler also warns us of the dangers on either side--of becoming overly individualistic or syncretistic. Here is a call to true Christianity, to know the gospel explicitly, and to unite the church on the amazing grounds of the good news of Jesus!

Fantastic !

Would you consider the audio edition of The Explicit Gospel to be better than the print version?

Yes because it helped me retain the information better

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Explicit Gospel?

The last three chapters on the dangers of the gospel on the ground or in the air too long

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

What you probably know but need to hear over and over again

A great refocus on a life lived for checklists

I have recently begun a spiritual reformation of my life. I have been a Christian most of my life, and I think many of the gospel truths I have known. But I greatly appreciate the way that Matt Chandler lays out the explicit gospel in an easy to understand and passionate format.
More than once I found myself listening to a concept in the book, and then I would ask myself what does he mean by that?
Almost every single time the next sentence Matt would say was the clarification I was seeking with my question.
I am going to relisten to this book again immediately, after I spent some time in prayer and scriptures. The only thing this book may lack is in an audio format you don't always get scripture references, but I'm not sure if the print edition has them either such as footnotes.
For someone who desires a scripturally based return to the first love of the gospel, I can't recommend this book more.

Yes, yes, yes!

I love the the way Matt breaks down the gospel in to Ground and Air. I think as a believer I have given most of my time understanding the gospel on the ground and lacked and full understanding of the gospel from the air. I love the fuller understanding I have through this book to understanding the gospel from heavens perspective. Honestly there is a great empowering that I feel as I I have a more complete perspective of the gospel.

Thank you Matt for putting the time in to writing this book and sharing it with others.

Tell It Like It Is

Explicit Gospel is just what the book is named. Share it. Believe it. Live it. It explains the differences of the law, being moral and understanding what grace really means. It either gets you on the right track or confirms your walk.

Masterful argument for the Gospel.

This book is a beautifully written argument for the Gospel. When the Gospel is preached, lives are changed.

Doesn’t sugar coat Gods word!

I love the upfront nature Matt takes in writing this book. In today’s age we must be bold and uphold the scripture.
