Publisher's summary

Have you been missing out on getting what you want most in life because you lack confidence or are shy? Do you want to have the confidence to do anything you want and not care about what others think of you? Then keep reading….

When I was a shy overweight kid who lacked confidence:

I was always the last person to be picked for the soccer team.

I was afraid of looking like an idiot for asking a question out loud in front of everyone in class.

I thought I could never become the person I dreamt of becoming: the confident, jacked, and badass person who doesn’t care about what other people think.

I stood in a corner at the party afraid to talk to the girl that I liked.

If you can relate to what I’m talking about and you would like to transform yourself then this book is a must-read for you….

These are just some of the problems I faced as a teen. I made it my mission to figure out what was making me anxious and what was holding me back from doing all the things I wanted to do. I‘ve now come a long way since and I want to help you.

In this handbook, you’ll discover:

  • How to communicate and get the message across even when you feel like no one will understand you.
  • Exercises used even by the U.S. Navy Seals unit uses to remain calm under pressure.
  • The one simple word fix to your sentences that will take your communication to the next level and grasp anyone’s attention.
  • How to work with your parents even if you feel like they don’t get you at all or can't help.
  • Absolutely everything you need to know to achieve every single goal and ambition you have.
  • Bonus templates for parents and teens to help with goal setting, planning, and mindset transformation.

Attention Parents! There’s also an addendum with special advice and tips for you to help the teens in your life develop stronger social skills and overcome anxiety.

I am eternally grateful to my parents as they played an instrumental role in my personal and social growth. I want to share with you everything my parents, counselors and mentors did right and a few tweaks and improvements that in retrospect would have helped me gain confidence faster.

I guarantee you that this book will work for you because:

  • I’m not going to bore you with facts. I’ll tell you about the challenges and problems I faced, how I overcame them and how you can too.
  • If you’ve tried all other self-help books and have not found them useful, this book will work for you because this is not a self-help book, it is a book to help you take specific action using templates to start today and get closer to your goal today.
  • Even if you don’t like to read books or read in general, this book will work for you because this book is easy to read and relatable.
  • Even if you’ve tried all the mainstream advice, this book will work for you because the advice is relevant for the 2020s.

Great tool for communication with teens

This book is a great listen. As a mother of 5 guiding older youth in adulthood can be so challenging. Although I can tell my kids how gifted, talented and the potential they hold, it usually ends in a eye roll. I really appreciated this book. I listened to it as well as my two sons. It changes they dynamics in the conversation. I have found when they listen to the book and I ask them a question “Do you see a lot of anxiety in your school? Do you feel like anxiety effects you and when?” Prior to discovering my new technique of communication it was difficult to get 3 sentences out of them. But when they listened and processed this subject themselves we had a easy flowing lengthy conversation. It is awesome. I have learned so much about how my sons are navigating through this part of their life, and not because I didn’t try before. This is a great tool to open communication and conversations with your kids. This book also gives so much valuable advice.

Great book for teens!

I wish I have this book before my kids turning to teens and going to college. I want them to become more confidence in themselves and more socialize. This book show you how to communicate effectively with others. I also love this book that it has the advice and tips for parents to help teens develop stronger social skills and overcome anxiety which help both ways. However, I think it’s not too late. I can use some advices for them when they are back. Highly recommend it!

Fundamentals but profound

This book provides fundamental, and maybe even at times, "basic" instructions and strategies, but there was new information for me and I am in my 50s. I truly wish my teenage self could have read a book like this. I appreciate that the breathing, smiling, tone of voice, and so many other tips were documented in one place to help teenagers (and 50-somethings?) to remove obstacles and blinders to achieve greater well-being. Lovely book.

Great book on helping teens build social skills!

I wish I had a book like this growing up. My life would have been very different. Richard Meadows does a great job of explaining concepts so a teenager can understand, such as dealing with social Anxiety, building positive self-esteem and confidence, and a lot of helpful resources you can use to take further action on getting help. If you have a teenager showing signs of depression or social issues, I highly recommend listening to this book with them.

Love the explanation!

I came across this audiobook and figured I’d give it a try. Great details on how the teenage worlds are pressured in becoming something their not, peer pressure, and more. Also, give detailed steps on how to deal with everything young for the first time. I have nephews that are teenagers and this audiobook is accurate! A must have.

Essential Social Skills Handbook for Teens

High school can be daunting and teen depression is on the rise. There are rapid growth changes in a teen's body they don’t understand. To overcome anxiety, you need to practice overcoming it. Things naturally improve this way. Learn lots of information about self-esteem and self-confidence. These are nurtured over time. They don’t just show up. Focus on your strengths. Imitate what you want. Affirmations, body language, social anxiety, real-life situations, and so much more! I struggled with my identity. I didn’t really have any guidance when growing up. I guess I learned by trial and error, but it was a very long road. Having a book like this would have been a real gift to me.

This book is written by someone who went through similar challenges as a teen and who decided to look more deeply into gaining control of them as an adult. This author takes you by the hand and walks you through the different hurdles you’ll face with compassion and understanding. Social skills are today's relevant topic.

Extremely helpful with practical solutions

I got this for my nephew who is in high school. He recently opened up about his struggles in high school because of his social anxiety. having gone through something similar in my teen years, I could resonate and thus, bought this book. Gave it a listen first and I feel like this is the best resource I can give to him. I could highly relate to the stories given in the book, and the solutions to the problems felt like a caring adult is having a conversation with you, guiding you towards them. It was even helpful for me since I still have some of the conditioning in my mind after that period, so it was helpful in revisiting those and working them out.

Good book for teens

This is a good book for teens. Whether they are shy, having trouble communicating, or just being a teenager. This book takes them thru different reasons for this and tips on how to help themselves improve with communicating with others and how to get along in a socially advanced time that many of their parents didn't have to experience growing up. Like the author said, times growing up are much different today than they were for their parents. Everything is on display. It is a much different world, and learning to navigate it can be harder for some. This is a great read for all teenagers.
