A man only gets one chance to find his Aphrodite...but what if she finds him first?
When archeologist Dr. Stewart Jones, a duke, goes missing and is feared dead while searching for an important Greek artifact, explorer Harold Tennison, Earl of Everly, is pressed into service by fellow members of the Royal Society to find him. Since Harry has already planned an expedition to the Cyclades to search for rare birds and flowers, he sets off for the Aegean to begin his quest.
On his last visit to Delos, Harry was blessed with a visit from a young woman - his very own version of Aphrodite rising from the sea to regard him with an arched eyebrow and a simple question that left him so discombobulated, he could barely speak.
Born of a Mykonian mother and a British duke, Lady Estelle isn't particularly comfortable in either world. With her father's recent disappearance and no prospects for marriage, Stella may end up stranded on Mykonos. She spends her days assisting her uncle in his hunt for Greek treasures he can sell to visiting Europeans. At night, she remembers the bespectacled earl who nearly broke her foot during a waltz back in London.
When Harry arrives on Mykonos to begin his hunt for the duke and to resume his own research, he'll have to learn far more about mythology, antiquities, and Greek goddesses than he bargained for. The search may be worth it, though, but only if he ends up with his very own Aphrodite in The Epiphany of an Explorer.

Historia
The Earl of Fennington has a secret identity - that of Mr. Pepperidge, editor of London's premiere gossip rag, The Tattler. While attending a garden party as Fennington, he meets and falls in love with an earl's daughter. The attraction is mutual, for despite knowing better, Lady Emelia allows him to kiss her behind a hedgerow. Who will know but them? When the earl asks permission to marry Emelia, her father denies him, requiring him instead to court Emelia for eight weeks. He's only allowed to see her once each week, however. Desperate to spend more time with her, Fennington devises a scheme in which he'll be able to do just that, but in disguise. Emelia will have to meet Mr. Pepperidge in the park once a week to provide him the on-dit she hears whilst paying calls in Mayfair parlors. That, or he'll print the news of her kiss with Fennington in The Tattler!

Historical Romance with a Great Setting
Lord Harold Tennison is sent to the island of Delos in the Aegean Sea to search for a missing archaeologist. He recognizes the missing man's daughter as the mysterious beauty he glimpsed on a visit six years ago. Lady Estelle Jones is the daughter of an English Duke and a Mykonos beauty, and feels isolated from both worlds. In Harold, she recognizes a confidant and a friend, and they become closer while they search for her missing father. Meanwhile, Alex Bradley is on a mission from the British Foreign Office to track down the missing duke as well, but he soon becomes sidetracked by Estelle's striking best friend Nike.
Linda Rae Sande effortlessly wove two love stories into this historical romance, with enough adventure and mystery to keep things interesting. One of the best things about the book is the setting in the Greek islands, it really shines as we explore it through the eyes of an archaeologist and a naturalist. I loved the contrast between Estelle attending the balls in London and diving for treasure in the Aegean sea. And the two couples were really adorable together. This was a steamy read with some explicit language, and catches us up with the characters from the rest of the series.
The narration was done well. Michael Troughton's voice fits so well with the male characters, and he lightens his tone for the female characters. I really enjoyed his accent. I received a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

A great story
**** SPOILER ALERT ****
In "The Epiphany Of An Explorer" Sande delivers a delightfully entertaining tale that has three love stories in it. I don't know how the author does it without it seeming forced, but I am glad they do. Sande does another fine job of world building and character development as they masterfully balance action and exposition in a book with just about everything. There are pirates, British spies, treasure hunters, a duke, lovers, novelists, a countess, scientists, and an earl. There's even an archeologist named "Dr. Jones" ( No, not THAT Dr. Jones, ) that believes artifacts belong in a museum.
I recommend this book in your format of choice.
Those of you, my fellow readers, that choose to partake of this book via ebook, or hardcopy can skip this next bit...
I listened to Michael Troughton narrate this book on Audible. Whovians will recognize the narrator's surname as his father, Patrick Troughton, portrayed the second incarnation of Doctor Who. Mr. Troughton did a superb job of bringing the book to life. His voicing was spot on, his audio production was superlative.
Mr. Troughton's sparing use of sound effects enhanced my listening experience. I hope to hear more of Mr. Troughton's narration work in future. Sande's choice of Mr. Troughton was a brilliant one.
In the interest of transparency: I was given a free review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review.
It is my own honest opinion.
