EJ:
The odds of escaping with my life were slim, but I had to try. I was raised in hell and loved by its leader. He abused me in every imaginable way. I needed to get out, to survive.
So, I borrowed a motorcycle—temporarily, of course.
But that bike? It belonged to the president of The Phantoms Motorcycle Club. Needless to say he was pissed and decided to enslave me as a club girl.
Only, nothing was what I thought and his revenge was starting to feel a lot like love.
Creed:
I was having one of those days—so bad it was cliche. Then, to top it off, my Harley was stolen. I was beyond furious. Especially when I discovered that the thief’s ex was a member of our rivals, The Kings.
She brought her drama, to my club, my family, and my town.
Messing with her became my new favorite hobby and pushing her boundaries was just an added bonus.
But somewhere between her stealing my ride and punching my face, I found myself falling for My Little Thief.

The Enemy Between Us is a wild ride that grabs you from the start. EJ, our fierce female lead, is on the run from her abusive husband and makes a bold move by stealing Creed's motorcycle. Creed is the ultimate biker bad boy-smoking cigarettes and smelling like coffee and leather, he's the kind of guy you can't help but be drawn to.
Their first encounter is anything but smooth, and the tension between them is electric. EJ is tough and rebellious, while Creed is the chaotic good type who has a soft spot hidden beneath his rough exterior. As they navigate their complicated lives and the dangerous world of biker gangs, their initial aggression turns into something much deeper....and hotter
I loved the playful nickname "trouble" that Creed gives EJ; it fits her perfectly! The chemistry between them is spicy and dirty, with plenty of banter that had me laughing. If you're into dark romance filled with rough bikers and feisty heroines, this book is definitely for you. It's a steamy, thrilling read that keeps you hooked.
- Motorcycle gang
- Asshole x brat
- Found family
- Spice
- Fight scenes
- Trigger warnings !!
- A plethora of nicknames (my favorite is "Trouble" for EJ)
- A very brief horse ride together...wish it was longer. I'll never change my cowboy loving ways
This listen was hot and filthy…and I loved it 😈

Set in LaBrie’s magnetic Coppertin universe, this motorcycle club romance already has heart, heat, and emotional depth, but Hoover Lynn elevated it to another level. I’ve listened to earlier narrations by Lynn, and it’s amazing to hear just how much she has grown as a narrator. The performance feels sharp, confident, and perfectly attuned to the grit and pulse of LaBrie's world.
The motorcycle club energy practically hums through the narration and the tension between danger and desire is delivered with a raw authenticity that pulls you right into the story.
Elizabeth (EJ) is a strong fierce FMC haunted by her past and the narration gave her the perfect mix of vulnerability and fire. The chemistry with Creed is electric, every exchange crackling with broody banter and heat. And Mo? Lovable, and a I can’t wait to see what comes next for her!
As someone who’s followed LaBrie’s writing for a while, I love catching the familiar names and subtle Easter eggs woven throughout. It’s like returning to a world that just keeps getting deeper, richer, and more real.
If you’re craving: A motorcycle club romance with grit and heart A tough-but-tender hero and a resilient heroine Found family feels and vivid, immersive narration
Then grab your headphones, because Hoover Lynn's narration combined with LaBrie Jame's storytelling bring the Phantoms to life in a way that will leave your heart racing.

EJ’s story broke my heart. She’s been through so much and is running from a brutal past. When she ends up stealing a motorcycle that just so happens to belong to Creed, the president of a rival motorcycle club, everything changes. He’s gruff, intense, and not always gentle, but his mission is to help her find her strength again, and it’s such a powerful thing to watch unfold.
It’s dark, emotional, and full of heart. Labrie James wrote characters who feel real, flawed, human, and unforgettable. Highly recommend giving this one a listen!

Creed was the bad boy with good intentions and Ej was the one who’d been there and done that and needed an escape. Little did they know all the secrets, lies, and trauma they would unravel together.
Adored this story in the best way!

The sole female narrator, Hoover Lynn, was exceptional in her role of bringing this motorcycle club romance to life. Her pitch and emotion for each character was defined and riveting.
I had the opportunity to listen, thoughts are my own, honest and voluntary.
