Editorial reviews

Editors Select, July 2017

It’s no easy task for an author to deliver a satisfying ending to a series. After multiple books, fans become deeply invested in the characters - and storylines - and have their own very specific opinions about how a book should end. In YA in particular, I feel like we’ve been disappointed over the last few years in some major series enders (...you know who I mean). Thankfully, one of my all-time favorite YA series has an ending that didn’t make me throw my headphones across the room. Maggie Hall’s seductive and thrilling trilogy reaches its epic conclusion with The Ends of the World. I would’ve happily continued to follow Avery, Stellan (that accent!), Jack, and Elodie to every corner of the globe, but I’m totally content with how we said goodbye. Although who are we kidding, it’s not really goodbye, as I’ve had Julia Whelan narrating this book on repeat in my car for the last several weeks. Did I mention Stellan’s accent? —Katie, Audible Editor

Publisher's summary

The thrilling conclusion to the romantic adventure series that TeenVogue.com calls, a "Da Vinci Code-style thriller for teens."

Power balances on a knife's edge. Destiny is uncertain. And love is the most terrifying thing of all.

The Circle of Twelve is not who Avery though they were. Neither is Avery.

Her mother is dead. Betrayal and attraction and history have tangled the strings that bind her, Jack, and Stellan. And now, Avery and her friends must put aside their own problems and focus on putting a stop to the most dangerous conspiracy of all.

From London to Russia to Egypt, from the chill of underground crypts to the flash of paparazzi cameras, Avery West will finally have to confront whether her fate means salvation - or destruction.

A captivating conclusion!

Julia Whelan's narration is beautiful, exhilarating, and captivating. I love Avery's growth throughout the series as she navigates the waters of loss, betrayal, and love.

Maggie Hall's world-building is stellar and intriguing. I was pleasantly surprised by all the mysteries and lies that were unraveled.

I'm sad to see the end of these character's story but am looking forward to more of Hall's work!

A wonderful conclusion

If you haven't read the first two books, don't bother with this one- you will have NO idea what's going on. That being said: this was such a wonderful conclusion to the series. Character development continues. Adventuring continues. Love stories continue. Plot pieces are wrapped up in a neat bow. If you loved the first two books, you will not be disappointed by book 3.

Edge of my seat till the end!!!

The first book of this series had me hooked all the way till the end. So much so that I had to find a way to get it since my Public Library didn't have it yet. So worth it!!! The end was to be expected of strong characters shoved to a corner. You'll find out more when you check it out. I'm so glad that I listened to this book, the reader kept me hooked and brought it to life. It enhanced the experience for me, as if I was watching it play out before me. Can't wait for more!! Excellent

When I listened to the first book, I felt a it was a little cliche. YA fiction with a girl deciding between two boys while action ensues in the background? I've heard it before. However I'm a sucker for historical fiction and books that tie real events (historical or modern) into them. I also grew to really love the characters and the relationships among them. By the end of the 2nd book, I had subscribed to Maggie Hall's newsletter, longing for the day when the 3rd book was released. I think the ending of the ends of world was perfect and enjoyed every minute of the performance. Julia whelan does a nice job narrating in so many different accents!

Great ending to great trilogy

I couldn't wait to read the final book in this series!! However, I was conflicted because I love the story so much, I didn't want it to end. Julia did such an excellent job narrating this series! The way 'Stellan' says "Kuklachka" makes me melt!! This story is packed with action, adventure, and romance. Even though I had a hard time choosing between Jack and Stellan, I was happy with how Maggie ended this series, including a plot twist st the end.
