Publisher's Summary

In The End of the World Running Club Edgar Hill ran 550 miles after an apocalypse to try to find his family.

He had it easy.

This is his wife’s story.

Beth Hill has survived the apocalypse with a baby and toddler in tow. And what’s more she’s done it alone - without her husband’s help. He’s never been any help. But when disaster strikes and someone steals her kids, she knows what she has to do.

The new world might be very different: no government, no law, no infrastructure and a whole lot more ocean than there used to be. But one thing hasn’t changed - the lengths a mother will go to save her family...

Brilliant!

I’ve just been on a great adventure! A wonderful bunch of characters surviving as best as they can. A wee bit of swashbuckling where the treasures are the loved ones that are too far away and the friends who help to shorten the distance. A beautifully narrated story.

Not as good as the first book

listened to this on audio book and I read the first book, maybe that's where I went wrong. I found the accents within the reading appalling, part of experiencing a book is that you determine that type of thing for yourself. that aside the story was just too unbelievable. ok yes we are talking about a situation where asteroids have largely destroyed the planet and mankind struggle to survive but the twists and turns this story takes are too frequent and unbelievable. the main characters should be irish not Scottish as they clearly are blessed with considerable luck! The main character is irritating in her continual reminder to everyone that she 'is trying to find her children' and her continual need to prioritise this above anyone else's life not just her own. I must admit, I finished this book simply out of interest to see how much worse things could get.

A great continuation of the previous plot/story.

I liked the perspective of looking at the other side from the fist book. At the same time moving the story along with further problems to over come in the new world after the disaster. The narrator does a great job of keeping in accent and dealing with the other vocals. I like the authors humour in both books. Great read keep up the good work and I can imagine there to be another adventure in the pipeline. Great job all round.

storyline

If things in life could go wrong when the End Of The World occurs then it would be for the main character who seems to have every disaster coming her way and then magically its all sorted with a variety of people who enter the story and everything is fine again. Its like Groundhog Day.

Pretty good

Quite enjoyed this and didn’t take long to listen to. Wasn’t quite as good as the first book but still enjoyable. Didn’t realise beforehand that this one was written from his wife’s perspective but it works quite well. Recommend.

Superb voice acting, great story

This is the second part and I really enjoyed it, not as much as the first one which I read, but the excellent voice acting really helped bring the story alive and I'm glad I chose an audio book for this one. I'd definitely recommend ensuring you've read /listened to End of The World Running Club first though.

Wow, didn't expect it to be this bad.

This second book really did not need to exist. The first full of story and interesting plot points, set pieces. this, well, I have 3 hours to go and I just cannot be bothered to finish it. Very flat story, no progression, lots of boats....... too many boats, I guess if you are into sailing you will get more from this than I did.

The narration is fine, but. not a patch on the last book. Only two characters stand out. A shame and missed opportunity and one that will never be read again.

Just was not needed, adds nothing to the series, after 6 hours literally nothing has happened....

Disaster movie-esque

This was a perfectly good listen and the narrator was brilliant at accents. But the story was like the author had watched every disaster movie going and picked parts to knit together to make a story - including Titanic. Not as original as the first book and I am guessing the ending of this one has left the way open for a third, which I am not sure I would listen too in all honesty.

A very satisfying next instalment

If you have not read Adrian J Walker yet, jump in, it's a fabulous ride with fully formed complex characters and storylines that keep you listening.
I highly recommend Adrian’s work and the voice artists are quality too.
Sit back and enjoy the journey, it's one hell of a roas trip
