Ready to lose my religion

For those seeking a new way to encounter God and Jesus, this book strips away all the barriers that impede that relationship and restores the original goal of God’s purpose to send Jesus to Earth.

My own religious beliefs are complex these days, and difficult to articulate. This book felt like a kind of conversion – it taught me a new way to live, and it gave me a new way to conceive of the holy.

Filled with more flexible and more compassionate approaches and shining a light of truth on denominational religious doctrine that if we are really honest have nothing to do with Christ but everything to do with exclusion, impossible compliance and real struggles with encouraging others to embrace a loving God.

good read; logical breakdown

enjoyed the book and the breakdown of Jesus as we should/could know him. Also, Bible verses were included for reference so you could take a look at it and decide what's true for you.

A whole new understanding

This book is amazing. It makes you finally see the tre meaning of Christ teaching. Something I have felt there was something missing that religion wasn't saying. Bravo!

Game Changer

This book will open you eyes, heart, and mind to understanding the drastic difference between religion vs following Christ. I'll be reading this book again, and recommending it to others who want to grow in their faith.

A road sign to see Gods as he desire us to see him

I first read thus book about fifteen years ago. I purchased the audio book as a gift for my adult son. I’ve listened to it hoping you have significant conversation with him and hopefully my grandchildren. Three books stand out in my readings. The Bible. Devine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard and The End of Religion.

Most promising news for Christianity's future.

Listened to the book twice, the second time with family members. We were challenged and encouraged by the author's perspective on a Christianity focused more on Christ's irriligious message then on institutional upkeep. This pastor's criticisim is positive and is born from the inside of his long church experience and love for the believers who make up the church (Body of Christ)! Bought a Kindle copy to read and reflect further on this hopeful message.

If I read this first, I would still be Christian

I left the faith a long time ago after seeing how hateful and cruel the religion was I grew up in and this book sheds light on where the faith strayed from the relationship with God and Jesus to being all about preaching hellfire and brimstone and hurting others. this was a profoundly inspiring book and I wrote many quotes down to think about and share.
