Publisher's summary

Two weeks from tomorrow, at precisely 6:11 in the morning, the rapture or apocalypse or Armageddon or whatever else it is you’d prefer to call it, is going to occur. But only in Goodland, Kansas. The Hendersons are caught in the middle as the town—and the family—divides between belief and unbelief in this satirical and illuminating apocalyptic novel.

Probably the worst book I ever read

This book is by far one of the worst I have ever read. I kept waiting for it to "get good" which it never did. The author was very childish in his writing. He portrayed the valuesof the "prepared" the same as the "unbelievers" and worst of all he painted God as a sarcastic unloving God.

What would happen if...

What would happen if half your town was convinced that the world would end in a couple of days? That's pretty much what is happening to the town of Goodland. It's not a pretty picture, but I think there's a good chance that this story is what would happen. Not heavily intellectual, but a good read.
